ARTISTS BEWARE
I used this platform for years without any issues because I always completed my commissions. Unfortunately, the first time I encountered a difficult client, they stole back the deposit after I completed substantial enough work because I didn’t “finish” after I got into it with the client.
Deposits are supposed to protect artists for time and labor they invest. I misplaced my trust in a system that supports unreasonable clients over the artists they exploit
If you’re an artist considering in this platform read the deposit policies carefully. They took my money without even telling me, the most frustrating part is I could’ve taken the commission outside of the platform but I wanted to be a person of “integrity”. Jokes on me.

Genuinely Bad
They take absolutely ages to respond to queries and months to get your account sorted. I have been locked out my account multiple times accidentally and it took months to get responses and figure out what was going on. They kept telling me they were referring the issue to there IT but it was never referred. Customer service is incredibly bad. Very very frustrating don’t waste your time. It takes absolutely ages to get set up.

Not functional
Trying to upload images and cannot get past first upload. It is asking me to “fill in all required fields” and some have no options or I filled in everything. It is simply not working for me

Amazing app and company. Taken my art and business to new levels since signing up.
They treat artists poorly
Has potential, but they treat artists poorly, extremely low level of client care- and understanding. Low quality client care- and artist relations. Highly wouldn’t recommend. Very unhealthy.
Insane cut
The concept is great and exactly what the art world needs. They’ve over complicated the process as some overbearing middle man that hides behind endless policies. They control and moderate everything just to make absolutely sure that you remain in their little creepy system and ultimately pay them a nonsensical cut. The amount they take from artists in platform fees is about 20% and on most commissions that is an unrealistic and unbelievably greedy cash grab on their part. I can get more commissions for a fraction of that cost using simple ads on any social media platform.

Great app
I have been with book an artist for almost a year and a half and I have nothing but positive experience . There are of course issues but I always get response from admin whenever an issue occur . If you are an artist and want to join be patient and consistent .
Waste of time
Terrible service don’t waste your time. They take ages and ages (3 months) for my account to still not be live. Website is full of bugs and is super slow, app is designed by someone who has clearly never used a phone before. On top of that. When you do go live they tell you that or have been selected out of many like it’s a race, yet they don’t mention this while you wait for 3 months for nothing. Meaning your profile is an application that’s only awarded if the person likes your work, not a profile. So all the emails are lies so that you just keeping you hitting there website. The staff at book an artist couldn’t even book a table at a restaurant if they tried.

Don’t Waste Your Time
Not worth it, looks promising but you can probably do better by yourself. They are literally a middle man with no benefit to the artist. They don’t help with clients when you have a problem, the “support” doesn’t reply if you have an actual problem, & you can’t make any money until you complete two jobs through their platform. Had a job through the platform, received a text saying I had my deposit only to find out you don’t;t get paid your deposit until you complete the order. ????????? Don’t waste your time creating a profile, portfolio, or anything on this app. Complete waste of time.

Another platform
In theory, this is a great idea! I have gotten several jobs from it. But they are very strict to keeping all interactions through the app, and there is a TON of lowballing from people seeing artists. The thing that bothers me is even though the open jobs tab claims to be region optional, you still have to sift though jobs from overseas and way outside of your local reach; and there is no simplified way to delete them. You’re forced to click on each one and press “not interested”. Same with job when you’ve completed them; you can’t ever delete them they just say closed. Clean this up app developer!

Wouldn’t recommend
Terrible app, terrible for artists, invasive privacy policy and damaging the local arts scenes in general, go find an artist on instagram instead and directly contact them
Canceled profile due to negative feedback about their communication
They canceled my profile because they had poor response to emails and were rude on the phone so I wrote negative feedback. Can’t get any more jobs.
Unfortunate
The app itself is fine, nothing crazy. However, if you’re looking to use this as a source of income, don’t. It’s been over a month and for some reason my profile hasn’t been activated. I’m not sure what they’re looking at for the verification process on their end, but confirming a profile photo matches an ID shouldn't be that complicated. It’s been a letdown.

Profile activation
I signed up to be an artist on this app, it’s been a month since I’ve created my profile and it’s still not activated. I can’t take on job, I can’t even look at them.
