Bookovery Book Recommendations User Reviews

Needs refining

Feels like all it’s offering is Y.A. Books even though I’m continually swiping left on them. Where are the books for grown ups?

Endless loop

I rejected around 31 books as I had read them or was not interested And accepted one - now the app is in a loop and won’t recommend anything - it’s as if in a loop - it keeps on running - I have lifetime subscription

Not that good

I swiped on a bunch of books but it kept feeding me choices from series I already swiped as bad. Didn’t help me find a book I wanted to read. It also forces you to login with your email instead of using a login / password to remain anonymous.

Edit: No. You forcing us to give you our email address is not better for privacy. It’s better for your marketing. And you do not need an account for recommendation. You can generate a unique token for that.

Response from developer

Bookovery needs an account for personalized recommendations. Sign in with Apple is more private and secure than email/password, and we’re improving how series are handled to avoid repeats. Thank you for trying out Bookovery though! :)

Poor implementation AI

Poor implementation, Disingenuous developers and requires login in on top of the safety of the uniqur ID offered by Apple. Recomandations are poor and very biased and incomplete. Any free AI does better.
Did I mention the ridiculous price as an in app purchase ?

Response from developer

Bookovery requires an account to deliver personalized AI-powered recommendations. The app is free with 30 daily votes, subscriptions are optional for more. If that’s not for you, too bad. Thank you for trying it out!

Requires Sign-in to use.

Saw this mentioned on Reddit so I downloaded it to give it a try. It requires creating/using an account via “Sign-in with Apple”. I do not create accounts just to try apps and I see zero reason to require an account for this. So unfortunately I could not even try the core functionality of the app. You’re not the only developer to do this but find it unacceptable across the board. This review is the best way I see to give feedback and try to stop everyone from requiring sign-ins for no reason. When you remove that requirement, post another deal on r/AppHookup and I’ll give it a try.

Bookovery relies on accounts to deliver AI-powered, personalized recommendations, that’s the core of how it works. Sign in with Apple makes this fast and secure in just a couple of taps. If creating an account isn’t for you, that’s fine! Bookovery is designed for readers who want tailored suggestions. :)

Bookish tinder

It’s so fun to swipe the books that I like/don’t like. It literally feels like a book version of tinder! Such a good way to find new and interesting reads that I wouldn’t have found if I hadn’t downloaded bookovery!

perfectttt

one of the best apps for any reader. Super easy to use and once you start swiping you just can’t stopppp. I highly recommend!!

Splendid app!

An absolute must have for bookworms. Great recommendations that have helped me get out of my comfort zone.
