Nun hat Bookshelves seit Neuestem auch eine deutschsprachige Oberfläche. Die Weiterentwicklung schreitet schnell voran! Was ich jetzt noch gerne hätte, wäre eine Möglichkeit die Kategorien (bzw. Bücherregale) in eine selbst gewählte Reihenfolge zu schieben. Und wenn es möglich ist, auch noch die Bücher selbst.

Thank you for the feedback. You're right that multi-select for organizing books into shelves is missing on iOS. This is already supported on macOS, and bringing it to iOS is a high priority. Importing directly into a specific shelf is also on the list. Both will arrive in upcoming updates.
Needs bulk operations on IOS.
Unfortunately, there are no functions provided to work with multiple books at a time on iPad, whether adding them to user defined bookshelves or deleting. For me at least, the ability to select multiple books for management operations such as categorizing or deleting books is an essential feature.
I upgraded to Pro and added a bunch of the public domain books before noticing this functionality omission when I set out to organize them. Disappointing.
I hope someday the developers will add this ability to the app. In the meantime, the hunt continues…

Thank you for the feedback and for upgrading to Pro! You're absolutely right -- multi-select for bulk operations like deleting and organizing books into shelves is missing on iPad. This is already fully supported on macOS, and bringing it to iOS is on our short list. Expect it in an upcoming update.

Der BookShelves E-Book Reader bietet hier eine wesentlich bessere Katalogisierung als die Bücher App von Apple. Man kann hier Bücher gleich mehreren unterschiedlichen Kategorien gleichzeitig zuordnen, und man kann auch Bücher herausfiltern, die noch keine Kategorie zugeordnet sind.
Die Darstellung erfolgt entweder als Doppelseite oder als Einzelseite.
Was noch fehlt: man sollte die Reihenfolge der Kategorien (bzw. Bücherregale) ändern können. Im Moment liegen sie in der Reihenfolge, in der man sie angelegt hat.

Doch, es fällt mir etwas ein! Es wäre natürlich schön, wenn das Programm eine deutschsprachige Oberfläche hätte, zumal es sich um einen Entwickler aus Deutschland zu handeln scheint.
Aber ansonsten: klare Empfehlung!

Schön wäre es, wenn die Oberfläche der App nicht nur auf Englisch wäre. Ich bevorzuge nun mal deutschsprachige Apps. Aber das ist nur ein kleiner Kritikpunkt.

Great app for organizing your ebook library
The design looks great and feels clean. Nothing cluttered or confusing, everything is where you'd expect it to be. I mostly use it to organize my ebooks and it handles that perfectly. No complaints there at all.
Also really excited for some of the upcoming features. Feels like the app is just going to keep getting better.

Exceedingly well thought out little gem
One negative that I suspect will be easy to fix is the forced "Discover" section - this makes the app feel less like a personal reader and more like a vaguely disguised marketing ploy. One should be able to turn it off completely.
Oh, and the "analytics" off-switch is a very nice touch - it is highly appreciated!
Overall, a great little app at a very affordable price.

Hi, thanks for the feedback. Since your review we've shipped several updates that address this -- v1.0.23 added a continuous scroll reading mode as an alternative to pagination, and we've added more controls for margins, line spacing, and paragraph spacing. The reading experience on iPad is much improved. If you get a chance to try the latest version, we'd love to hear how it works for you.
Huge potential
Unfortunately the actual reader is janky to use, especially selecting text interfering with page turns, and layout/theme/font settings. The reading progress bar also seems to be bugged as well and not accurate.
Oh and iCloud sync is pretty bad... my entire library just duplicated itself!
Still hopeful... this can all be fixed; then this could be the best book app.

Hi, good news -- every issue you mentioned has been fixed. Text selection no longer interferes with page turns (1.0.23), the reading progress bar was completely rebuilt to be accurate and stable across sessions (1.0.26), and the iCloud sync duplication bug is resolved (1.0.27). Would love for you to give it another try -- the app you described as "the best book app" is a lot closer to that now.
