Stupid
I can’t even login without my email and it just cannot work so I have to use the website
Terrible!
Clunky, not user friendly full of errors
Much Improved – A Great Tool for Parent
The developers have clearly listened to feedback, and the app has improved significantly. I’ve noticed several negative reviews, but many seem to come from people who may not be using the app correctly. All the necessary functionality is there—you can log your child’s reading and easily add new books.
The support team is also very responsive and helpful if you run into any issues. Overall, it’s a much more convenient and effective alternative to traditional paper reading diaries.

Awful
App doesn’t carry over data from previous year and can’t create a new account because “email address is already in use” even though I deleted my account. Have to log in through the browser and add all the school details every time.
Alert: Invalid parent login code
Look here, when I type my email address and type 60795 or 21567, it shows me a white box with the title: Alert along with the text: Invalid parent login code with a button that says: OK. Why is this? What is the login code? Send me a message if anyone knows.
Frustrating
It depresses me that I have to use this app. Using tech is supposed to make life easier, but I find that I have to go through more steps vs writing it down. When the app doesn't recognise the book it is painful to have to manually enter the details as predictive text has an issue with the name of most authors.

Messy but does the job
Need to use it for school. The app is a mess though. If the book title is more than 20 characters long you can’t read it anymore, which is useless when you are reading a series. You can’t edit the title either.
I ended up just using the web version, which has its own design issues but at least I can see what I’m doing.

Better
06/03/24 Edited and 2 stars given back. The app developers listened and brought back the completed book function. Good listening. Still not brilliant but it’s getting there.
Not a great interface. Not intuitive. They have removed the “completed book feature” on reading log.

Latest update not good
Took away the ability to mark book as pages 1 to end, now you have to count all the pages of every book manually, as some books don’t have page numbers
Really annoying to use now
Why take away the tick box for when you read a whole book in one go? Pretty much all the books my son has don’t have page numbers so I have to count how many pages there are to record it properly and most of the time I just don’t bother anymore. Makes us look like we don’t read with our child but it’s just that the app is designed by people who must not actually use it themselves

No option for completing a book
New update last month Jan 2024 was rubbish. No features of “reading complete” after finishing a book. My child is really upset and now doesn’t want to read any more. Please fix it asap!
Terrible
Latest update “improve interface for completing books”. Yep, improved by taking the option away
Fix latest update
The latest update is terrible. You can no longer mark a book as complete, you have to put an end page number in. Also when marking as complete in the follow up step it flags it as completed on the current day, no longer possible to add completions retrospectively.
Latest update has gone backwards
Although this is a brilliant idea, the app has always felt a bit glitchy. The latest update has made things worse as you don’t have the option to say that you read to the end of the book on the initial screen and not all picture books have page numbers.
Latest version has gone backwards
It no longer has the option to say you have read the whole book when entering details. You have to enter the page from and to, you cannot flick a radio button any more to say you have read the lot. Ok when the pages are numbered but if they’re not….
Latest update unnecessary changes
Not sure who thought it was a good idea to make an already awkward input of books read, to make it harder to just enter end of book. This is meant to be used in school where for earlier readers, the books are shorter and read in one session. Why has it be changed?
Too limited. Not all reading is done though books
We have to use this app because my son’s school has made it mandatory. But it is too restrictive. We often read things which aren’t books - magazines, newspapers, museum boards, adverts, recipes, story cards and more. We are asked to log all reading. But this app insists everything needs to be a book - with a title and author. This is ridiculous. And it is also against what the school is asking us to log. I don’t think they realise that the app is so limited. Maybe, in a previous version, it was less restrictive? If so, please bring that flexibility back and save many parents’ sanity!!
UPDATE December 2023. The latest version is the worst so far. The bar code feature has long since gone - making adding books slower. But now they’ve removed the “to the end” option as the second value of the number of pages read per session. Which is a pain as you have to reopen the book to find the number of the last page each time.

No longer the option to log the book has been finished
Can only log how many pages have been read. School needs to know how many books are being completed so this app is no longer useful for this purpose.
Needs the scanner adding
App works fine, can manually add anything my children read, but it would be really useful to have the option to scan the barcode and automatically add some books to the reading list. Please add this function
