Lack of preset for soundbars
So far so good
100% creepy
On top of that in the majority of the calls I try to answer or make with these clip on ear buds people complain they can’t hear me or that I sound super tinny. So creepy and bad microphone. Ew. Shame on Bose.
Ability to check your model #?
I struggled in the app for a while trying to figure out why my headphones don’t completely turn off noise canceling on any mode. I had to google and find out on threads that my model does NOT allow you to turn it off—this is something the app should tell you!
Software inconsistency between earbuds and headsets
Incredible
Bose headphones
HORRIBLE!!!
They take FOREVER to synch, Sound like TRASH & will CONSTANTLY cut out & away from an Iphone15.
You have been warned!
Bose is GARBAGE.
Update killed my soundbar connection
I ruled out my network thoroughly. It failed the same way on wired Ethernet and on Wi-Fi. It failed on WPA3 and on WPA2/WPA3 mixed. I have a single router, no mesh nodes, and my phone and the soundbar are confirmed on the same subnet. Four HomePods and an Apple TV share this network and none of them ever drop off AirPlay. The soundbar is the only device that does this.
The hardware sounds great and works fine with the TV over HDMI. But the network side is unreliable enough that AirPlay isn't something I can count on, and there's no way to restart the unit from the app when it happens. You have to physically pull the plug.
And the latest app update just put a nail in the coffin because even with multiple device restarts, the soundbar has not connected at all to the Bose app let alone Airplay. Though it shows as connected to the wireless network in the Orbi app.
Horrible
Pls bring back voice announcements instead of beeps!
However I miss the voice announcements for battery and for switching modes, for letting you know which device it’s just connected to, etc.
I don’t know what the various random beep noises that it uses now mean. I find it less user friendly now.
They just want you to buy new products
Useless with an iPhone
1. Ok so i toggle the connection to Mac off. Next time i switch the headphones on, it still connects to the Mac! And it makes the Mac connection the active one.
The Mac is switched off and nothing is playing on it.
2. Say I'm listening to a book. The next time i put the headphones on, it will play music from the Mac (or it will play nothing) even though the last thing i did was listen to a book on my phone.
3. I'm connected to my phone. I play the book on the audiobook app. I pause it using the headphones. I play it using the headphones. It does not play the book! It just drops my phone at every possible opportunity.
4. Noise cancelling switches off when I'm in calls. That's the most useless noise cancelling I've ever heard of. And no it's not how Bluetooth works because it works as expected on an old windows 10 laptop - when I'm in calls, the noise cancelling is exactly the same as when I'm not in calls on the windows. So it's technically possible but regressed for newer devices/ios.
"TOTAL CONTROL" - I'd love SOME control. At the moment, i have very little control over what will play out even if it will play!
Very frustrating as it used to work perfectly and now it's just badly designed connections!
