Better than default Twitter app
I love this app. It allows me to quickly verify whether the person I am dealing with on Twitter is a bot or a real person. If a real person, it allows me to see if they are a troublemaker, problematic, or a normal user. The only thing I wish the developers would add to this is when I am in a web browser like Safari and I open a Twitter link, I wish there was the option to open this app instead of the Twitter app.

What is Bot Sentinel?
Just tried Bot Sentinel on Twitter and I’m not impressed. BotSent may have another purpose besides warning the user about bots, which it doesn’t exactly do anyway. Lacking the bot finding function implied in its name, what DOES BotSent do? Noticing the first “Disruptive” label slapped on a Twitter account by BotSent, I reviewed it, but the app analysis I asked for registered a “Normal” finding. Hmmm…I found nothing “disruptive” in the tweets. Zilch. Why identify an account with 2 contradictory terms, I wondered? And where are indicators showing the presence of a bot? One could call the account’s tweets “left leaning”, but that’s all. I couldn’t find signs of automated response nor any other common symptoms of bots. I get the impression Bot Sentinel is more a censorship of “liberal” opinions tool, but can only guess at what the app creator’s purpose really is. I also wonder, “What is done with my interactive data?”

Almost great
I’ve been using the app for a few days and so far everything seems great except that it keeps refreshing my feed and moving me way up. I’m constantly having to scroll back down, which makes the app almost unusable. The twitter app did the same thing but not nearly as frequently. Load new stuff, sure, but let me keep reading where I’m at.

Tremendously useful for filtering out the junk
I’ve used Bot Sentinel in Chrome for a long time, and found it super-helpful for flagging a lot of the garbage (bots, trolls, etc.) on Twitter. Very glad there’s now an app version for the iPad!

It flags tweets from bots very effectively so you know which accounts are real.
It’s so good at that it’s been attacked by both the extremes on the right and left. No better testament to how effective it is.

Useful tool!
I’ve been using the app and website for at at least 2 yrs. I thought it helpful to pick out the bots during the presidential campaign. There a lot of nasty people on Twitter. Thanks for the help.
First-rate bot spotter
I started using Bot Sentinel to track bot activity in my Congressman’s Twitter feed. It’s handy and the accuracy has improved steadily since it was introduced. Saves a lot of time when you can just drop a screenshot of a bot’s rating into a thread instead of trying to explain to everyone in the thread that they’re a bot or troll. Using their handle is also a convenient way to alert other troll-trackers to problematic accounts, for independent follow-up.

There are all kinds of bogus b.s. scammers leaving spam bad reviews here now. Don’t believe them. BotSentinel is the best way to ID accounts that have irregular activity. Of course BotSentinel is under attack because they are a force for good and truth and the American Way - and that is under attack! BotSentinel rocks!!

Great App
I love Bot Sentinel. It allows me to check accounts that appear to me to be bots. I can then report them as well as let other people know. There seem to be a bunch of recent poor reviews that I’m guessing are from those bot farms trying to shut down the app.

Must have for Twitter - Don’t go down the rabbit hole with a troll
There are so many trolls and bots in Twitter-land, and this app tells you right away who you should be wary of. You can tell what accounts are likely fake/trolls and avoid. Highly recommended.

I have been using this service before it was an app and I have always found it very helpful. Mostly it tells you when someone is likely being disruptive and disingenuous and you can choose to engage, or not, accordingly. I like to screencap the trollbot’s report and share it with them, they hate that!

Useful for checking tweet veracity
I don't always use it but it's really nice to see ratings of the accounts posting on your timeline. Also has tools to check on multiple accounts at a time

There are a lot of malicious accounts out there spreading lies and propaganda. Bot Sentinel has proven itself to be a great way to defend against those and help insure the integrity of Twitter.
I can’t for the life of me understand why this is getting negative ratings, though now that I think of it this could be another attack on Twitter itself.
These people or bots, wherever they are, are pretending this is a tool for use against liberal causes. Bot Sentinel does NOT discriminate based on content, it just usestats to monitor suspicious activity.

Great to id troll and conspiracy accounts
Bot Sentinel originated as a website to show the tendency of a particular Twitter id to share unreliable content or actively troll other users. I’ve used it for several years and can say that by blocking the users it identifies as highly unreliable I have kept my feed relatively free of jerks and misinformation.
Now it’s an app! By logging into Twitter through the app you can automatically see the % age unreliable posts by user. The best thing is by going into trending topics you can easily find new trolls to block.
Bot Sentinel has kept me using Twitter. I can see my favorite journalists, scientists, progressive activists and academics in my feed without being distracted by (or dragged into) ridiculous crap trying to bring us down to the lowest level of discourse. I couldn’t be happier.

Highly recommend for inauthentic bot accounts
Any time I see a Twitter account spewing lies, talking nonsense, this is my “go to” method of determining is the person behind the account is real or is it a bot, fake or high jacked account.
The negative reviews you are seeing? That tells you this app is very good at doing its job… calling out inauthentic accounts.

Review of the Bot Sentinel IOS App
Bot Sentinel IMHO is the best app available today because of its unbiased utility. In today’s times where everything must be fact checked Bot Sentinel without prejudice does all this for you fighting disinformation and targeted harassment in real time on Twitter. I can’t imagine using Twitter without it.

App makes it easy to weed out bits and problematic users
The little rating Botsentinel appends to Twitter profiles is useful to help identify accounts you don’t need to waste your time interacting with. All of the one star ratings coming in around June 1 are part of a coordinated attack from the right - many of whom Botsentinel would identify as the type of losers you wouldn’t want to engage with.

Before you spend vital emotional energy formulating a response to that jerk on Twitter, use this app to access the bird app! It will let you know if the offending account is problematic (and to what degree) so you can instead report & block.
A must for a pleasant Twitter experience
I’ve been using BotSentinel for as long as they have had plugins for my desktop web browsers, and this app encapsulates that functionality in an app. Clearly identifies potentially problematic accounts, allowing me to be selective about accounts I allow in my feed. Their classification algorithm is excellent, though as is to be expected, any automated system will make errors. However the few accounts I’ve seen that appear to be mis-classified DO often engage in online behaviors that I suspect an algorithm could flag. There are actors on social media with a disruptive agenda and this is a must-have to quickly alert me to problem accounts, allowing me to avoid engaging with & amplifying their disinformation and inflammatory messaging.
