BridgeWatch shows the live status of the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway at a glance. It is an independent, unofficial app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the Greater New Orleans Expressway Commission. Anyone who crosses the bridge knows the feeling: you are halfway out the door and wondering whether fog closed it an hour ago. BridgeWatch answers that question before you leave the driveway. WHY BRIDGEWATCH • One glance: a full-screen status that reads from across the room. Green means clear, amber means caution or fog, red means closed. • Push alerts: get notified the moment the bridge closes, and again when it reopens, with the reason ("The accident closure near the 16 mile marker has ended"). • Choose your alerts: every change, or closures only. • On your schedule: quiet hours, a commute window, and a direction filter, all enforced on your device so your schedule never leaves your phone. • Home screen widgets: bridge status without opening the app, in every size, including lock screen widgets. • Both directions: northbound and southbound tracked separately. • Recent alerts: a short history of what happened and when. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account. No location tracking. No analytics. The only data tied to the app is an anonymous push token used to deliver your alerts. Your notification preferences never leave your device. HONEST ABOUT ITS LIMITS BridgeWatch reads the Causeway's public alert feed and classifies it automatically. Status can occasionally be delayed or incomplete, so always verify conditions with official sources and obey posted signs. Never use the app while driving.
