Glitchy Design & Unfair (Pay to Access)

I was really excited to try this app, since my PCOS has a huge impact on my life. However, after I finished entering my information, there was a pay-wall. It’s important to note that these payment options are really expensive. I decided to purchase a plan without a free-trial because I’ve been desperate for something to help support my PCOS symptoms. To my disappointment, the app has a large amount of glitches. I can’t log any meals because the button doesn’t work, and the app is just extremely hard to navigate on mobile. Obviously I understand that developers charge for apps to help support themselves and their families, but, the pricing for this app just makes no sense to me. PCOS is a hard condition to navigate, and those who are low-income could potentially not have access to doctors/medications, so some people might rely on apps like these. But, the pricing makes these secondary ways of managing PCOS unaffordable and inaccessible. I’m overall really disappointed with my experience, and I’ve already requested a refund.

Response from developer

Hi, and thank you for taking the time to write this out. I'm sorry your experience was this frustrating. The meal logging button not working is a bug on our end, and it's unacceptable that you hit it after paying. I'm looking into it now and it will be fixed. Your refund has been processed. If you're ever open to trying Briom again, reach out to me directly at calobriia@gmail.com and I'll set you up with free access. No conditions. PCOS is hard enough without the tools you're relying on getting in the way. Thank you for the honest feedback. It's genuinely useful.

Should have read the reviews

I thought this app would have helped me but I did not think I’d have to pay. I wanted a refund but the email provided to contact them does not work. I just want my money back because I shouldn’t have to pay this much to help me through this. I even spent another $9.99 to get passed through the app to see if I could contact them in the app but there’s no contact in there either. So I paid $59.99 and $9.99 for something that wasn’t worth it.

I am enjoying the quiz and feel confident about the beginning of my weight loss journey

Great

Love this app!!

paid, greedy asf

would of been a good app if it was free for all, always check reviews before downloading, wasting my time

Can’t get passed the welcome

Spent the money….cant even get past the welcome. App freezes

Response from developer

Hi Saresee, so sorry you hit this right after subscribing. Please email us at calobriia@gmail.com and we will get this sorted for you fast, plus set you up with a special offer for the trouble. A quick first thing to try in the meantime: fully close the app (swipe it away), confirm you are on the latest version, then reopen. If it still freezes, delete and reinstall and your subscription restores automatically with no extra charge. Either way, reach out and we will take care of you.

Not worth it yet

A promising idea but there isn’t enough to make the price worth it. I would like to see more features and a better interface. It showed me macro goals once and then never again, and there’s no way to adjust your goal or profile. I have requested a refund, it’s not worth the money yet.

No free version

It doesn’t let you bypass the sign up for premium when you join. It won’t let you utilize whatever this app has to offer unless you pay. No thank you

Paid app

You can only use the app after paying. No chance to try it out or even see the layout. Also, very glitchy.

Broken?

I had been recommended this app by someone to try but I think there is a glitch — it gets stuck on the ‘I’m ready’ page and even after deleting and redownloading it does not seem to go any further

Should have read the Reviews!

It’s so unfortunate, the reviews are clear that the demand is there and the design is so cute but I couldn’t even log my food on day 1. So why was this launched?? I’d like a refund. Wish you all the best! I’ll be bsck when it does as advertised.

Response from developer

Hi , that is completely fair and we are sorry day 1 let you down. Email us at calobriia@gmail.com and we will sort your refund right away, no hassle. If you are open to it, we would also love to make this right another way: reach out and we will set you up with a special offer, free extended access once the fixes are live, so you can try Briom the way it was meant to work without paying again. Either way the choice is yours. We are pushing fixes fast, and we would genuinely love to have you back. Thank you for the kind words about the design and for giving us a shot. You deserve to feel better.

Glitchy

There was no trial for the app just had to pay, and it’s glitchy. I can’t enter anything in for tracking my protein etc…. Check in does not save if you answer no to a question. Why charge for an incomplete app?

Response from developer

Hey, thank you for being specific because this is exactly the kind of feedback we need. The check-in save issue and the nutrition tracking bug are both being looked into right now. These should not be happening and you are right to call it out. Please reach out to us at calobriia@gmail.com with your device model and we will make this right for you personally.

Don’t bother downloading if you can’t pay for the app

It requires you to pay no matter what, theres no option to use it free. As a 16 year old who struggles with money, there is no way I can afford this app. I was hoping that this would be an app that I could actually use to help me with my PCOS struggle but, unfortunately, it makes you buy premium in order to actually use the app. Perhaps the app could have a free option for those in similar situations as me, it doesn’t even need to be as good as premium but having the option would be extremely helpful.

Response from developer

Hey, thank you so much for sharing this, and for being open about what you're going through. PCOS at 16 is genuinely hard, and the fact that you're already looking for ways to take care of yourself says a lot about you. Accessibility is something we think about, and reviews like yours are exactly the kind of input that shapes where we go next. We can't make any promises right now, but we're keeping this conversation in mind. In the meantime, if you ever want to reach out directly, you can find us at calobriia@gmail.com. We take care of our cysters.

Empty

This app is empty. Made me pay for a subscription for an app that has literally nothing on it. There’s a total of like 10 recipes per diet and there’s no way to print up your food goals. If you take a photo it gives you a list of ingredients the AI thinks is in the food but you can’t edit that list or take ingredients off of it, I have tried so many times and different ways to change this. If you need a tutorial to use an app then add one. At the end of the day my point still stands, you are charging people to use an empty app. I’ll pay for an app when it’s done or actually has substance, not false promises.

Potential

The app seems to have potential. In the questionnaire it does not give me any option to indicate that I am currently breastfeeding before providing me with my daily calorie intake recommendation. I got to the part where it asked which subscription package I would like to move forward with. The options were a yearly subscription of $1.15/week or $9.99 for a weekly subscription. I am not inclined to pay $9.99 to try an app that doesn’t take my full hormonal situation or calorie needs into consideration.

waste of time and money

This is an awful, glitchy app that is not worth a single penny. Don't waste your time and money on it like I did.

Response from developer

Hi, we are truly sorry to hear your experience was this frustrating. That is never what we want for any of our members. We take performance issues very seriously and we would genuinely love to understand exactly what went wrong for you. Please reach out to us at calobriia@gmail.com with a quick description of what you experienced and we will personally investigate and make it right for you.

Needs to be updated

The app has potential but there is a lot that needs to be updated. Logging food for one is ridiculous. It doesn’t calculate properly, no way to manually enter. If it calculates wrong you have to completely exit out of the app to cancel the entry. It’s just not user friendly at all. The concept is wonderful though.

Response from developer

Thank you so much for your feedback and for recognizing the vision behind Briom! 💛 You're right, the food logging experience needs to be as smooth as possible. Good news — there's actually already an edit button that lets you modify your food entries after logging them! But clearly it's not visible enough if you missed it, and that's on us. We're working on making it much more intuitive and easier to spot, along with improving calculation accuracy and the overall logging flow. What makes Briom unique is our focus on the nervous system and hypnotherapy approach to PCOS — something no other app offers — and we're committed to making every other feature match that same level of quality. We'd love for you to stick with us and see the improvements roll out. And if you ever have more suggestions, feel free to reach out — we read every single message. Thank you for helping us build something truly special for the PCOS community! 🙏

Do not recommend

App does not do half what is in advertisement, I couldn’t figure out how to log food in the first place, and all support is in French. No American understanding

Response from developer

Thank you for your feedback and we are sorry the experience didn't meet your expectations. To log food, you can tap the pink "+" button on the home screen . You're right that some of our support content has been primarily in French. We're working on making sure everything is fully available in English, and I appreciate you flagging that. We'd love to help you get started. Please contact our customer support assistant at dimitri@calobrio.com. We'll offer you something special for the inconvenience and walk you through everything.

Have to pay

Wanted to try this app out to see if it worked before I paid for it and you aren’t able to use it unless you pay for it
