Love it- want it in my Braptor now!

Had a First Edition Bronco and the app worked great. Just purchased a new Bronco Raptor and cannot find the app nor connect to it in any way. Miss being able to use this app and really hope the developers are working on this so I can get back on the trails 😎

Response from developer

Hi, we are aware of the issue with Raptors and are working on fixing it ASAP. Stay tuned for the update, and thanks for the patience!

Record Wings still need work

Update: it seems like that app doesn’t leverage the camera stabilization for video as the recordings shake at every bounce. In addition, connecting to the Bronco proved difficult once again. I repeatedly received “This vehicle is not compatible” message. I have a 22 Wildtrak w/Lux. I had better recording with my phone on a mount w/o the trail app.

I went on a full day ride last week and the recordings are a mess. I went through the setup and made sure I had the correct views needed. None of the recordings work out: data overlay was upside down (no orientation help when setting up the camera), other recordings completely froze partway through or recording a screenshot for 15-20mins. I use CarPlay wired to ensure a good connection and uninstalled/reinstalled before I started the day. Just disappointed

HI, thank you for the feedback. We are working hard on improving the video recording experience, and expect to have an update out very soon. Please check back soon. Thank you!

This app reminds me of bidenomics

This app is flawed in its conception. It’s an off-road mapping app which means it’s used in places that do not have Wi-Fi or cellular connection. The app requires continuous logging in and logging out. and then again, logging out and logging back in. These required continuous logging in and logging out procedures require a connection via Wi-Fi or cellular. So the app will work if you’re going shopping at the mall. However, if you’re planning on using this Bronco Trail App on off-road on trails, you had better have a back up application ready to go because it will require you to login and log out and login and log out and if you don’t have cellular connection, the app will not work. It has to login via cellular to know what vehicle you are driving. it will not remember what vehicle you’re driving from one stop to the next. if you’re a pavement, princess, or a mall crawler, this is the app for you. If you like to go on trails that are off-road, that’s not what this trail app was designed for.

This app reminds me of bidenomics

Update: I responded to an e-mail from Daniel on September the 11th. I think Daniel is just a bot. The questions were like. Do you have a car? Do you have a phone? Do you have Wi-Fi? I responded to his questions and he never responded back. This is the problem with companies and developers that are too scared to talk to their customers. They hide behind,” send us an email.” for which they just don’t respond or follow through. I responded again on September 13 saying why have you not responded and still nothing. I started a new thread. I got some guy named Josh. He responded a couple of times and then said they think they have a possible idea of why I can’t login and that they would let me know when this got resolved. Since then nothing Josh. I have subsequently been able to login, but now I get the Error app link not not detected and the Bronco Trail App does not currently support your vehicle model. I can’t find anywhere that I’m able to put in my model. The layout and tutorials of this app are just awful. Go ahead and email Support and you too can get ghosted.

Has potential but needs serious attention

1. Lots of connectivity problems that are slowly improving.

2. Great potential, free but very basic when compared to competitors

3. Having the screen pop up telling me i have to unlock the app on my phone is dangerous and annoying. Stop nannying and let users determine the best way to utilize the app, very frustrating to be driving down the road and have it crash then not allow me to just restart it without stopping and looking at my phone.

4. The fact you cant get telemtry without recoding video on your own personal device is useless to people who use external cameras to film their trips. I use my phone for navigation and music, not recording my trips.

5. Being able to record the trail cameras would be AMAZING, that would make up for alot of the current shortfalls.

6. Open source the app/parts of the app? This doesnt get a lot of updates and doesnt have a lot of features. Oepn sourcing it to allow the community to help out would be awesome. Although im sure the SWE building this run into alot of corporate types that dont understand the beauty of open-source.

Response from developer

Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately it's not technically possible to hook in the Broncos external cameras right now, but we do plan to give you more options on when and how to record videos. In the meantime, be aware that iOS does not permit apps to record video while in the background, which is why the prompt asks you to open the app on your phone. Also, there is a setting in the app to disable video recording (Profile -> Settings -> uncheck Video). Should you need any additional help, please send an email to trailapp@ford.com and we can assist. Thanks again!
