I like it but I don’t love it
I really like the Brother SP1 printer. The print quality has been good and the printer itself is easy to use. However, I think the Artspira app needs significant improvement.
The connection is frequently lost, which can be frustrating, especially when working on a project. Another major limitation is that Artspira is only available on mobile devices. It would be much better to have a version for a computer or laptop, or at least better support for a larger tablet screen/keyboard and mouse. Designing on a phone can be difficult when you need to work with text, positioning, and detailed designs.

Newest update is awful
This app is working for me just fine but the newest update in August 2026 has completely broken my workflow. I can no longer make a customized piece of mug sublimation paper at 9.5” x 4”. My dimensions are no longer allowed. I tried to use the mug template in the app, but it’s too small for my designs. I cannot print from my desktop to the printer (this was a problem before which is why I’m using the app in the first place). So basically I cannot use standard sublimation mug paper, which is ridiculous. This is not great since I have hundreds of wholesale orders I need to ship. I’m incredibly annoyed. I will change my review if this is fixed.

Not working
Keep trying to login and when I do that keep seeing a “Can’t get data from server. Check network and retry” and an update sign that doesn’t even do anything when I tap it nothing on the screen works all there is is a never ending loading sign.
Not user friendly
Not enough after sales help. Updates always cause problem. Because I prefer to pay via apple I lose subscription on updates so I lose date in Artspira until next sub payment 🤷♀️
Embroidery
This app is brilliant if your wanting to progress further with making stuff for family and friends I’m learning so much I love it, could play all day ..

オリジナルのイラストなどを刺繍できるのはいいけど、画像変換で刺繍データに変換する際、色が正しく読み取れてない。似ている色ならまだしも、黒→赤、オレンジ→緑などめちゃくちゃに変換される。色味を変えて何度やっても同じ…正直有料とは思えない。
精度を上げろとは言わないが、簡単な色の識別くらいは出来るようにしてほしい。

Going to keep trying. App Keeps filling designs where I don’t want them filled even after using Inkscape to remove fill, and transferring. Lettering has bare spots where you can see the fabric between stitches. Like anything it’s a learning process. If I can use the app and get a solid design eventually I will update my review.

Ok, but could be better
This tool is a bit clunky, but I can usually get what I want if I work at it long enough.
Works well!
I just wish we could see the surrounding fabric outside the frame it is very hard to line things up to things that are outside the embroidery area.
Overwhelming
While I LOVE the scan n cut ability, transferring data to external sources doesn’t always work and it’s very annoying when you have VERY LIMITED memory on your machine. If there’s anyway that can be increased it would be a HUGE asset.
Also, always having to “delete” a pattern or ok it is unnerving until you’re familiar with what it’s doing. That initial fear of losing your work is nauseating. I have yet to understand the reasoning behind it. I’m interested in purchasing files as I suspect that’s the only way to get the details I see on my phone and tablet but I’ve had my machine for 3-4 yrs and have yet to figure out how to purchase them🤦🏼♀️.
3-4 yrs in, my machine is having trouble with the left side roller lagging. And it always loads my scan sheet crooked. There should be troubleshooting tools within this app to help care for your machines but I guess that’s Brothers App????
There seems to be a lot more opportunity for those of us who input our own designs and to change them. But doing them on this app is next to impossible. Because it’ll lock up on you or you have to keep moving the screen around and then you lose your place.

Excellent App
Thank you for making this app. I love the fact that I can make designs on my iPad while on the road. It is much better and user-friendly than the online version of Canvas. Having so much fun using this!

I feel like there should be a help? To help you get through directions or a chat box. I feel like it could be more user-friendly.
Educational videos won’t play
Thought this would be a useful app. Just bought the SQ9285 two hours ago and cannot view any videos for it. Keep getting a message to log in to prove I’m not a bot. There’s NO option to log in. Cannot click on “watch on YouTube” as it doesn’t allow you to click on it. Pretty disappointed!
subscription in order to embroid a personal image
app was great until they made you have to pay for a subscription to use the machine i’m sure A LOT of people want to use it, before i could upload a image no issue now it won’t let me unless i pay when i already paid for the expensive machine already

원하는 작업 진행 순서대로 그리는것도 너무 번거롭고, 겨우겨우 순서대로 작업했다가 가장 아래에 깔렸으면 하는 선이 수정하면 가장 위로 올라가는것도 너무 불편해요.. 선별로 레이어를 설정 할 수 있으면 좋겠습니다
Poor wireless connection
I bought the Brother SP-1 to sublimate shirts, magnets, and wall decor. This app is terrible for sublimation designs. I cannot count the times it has disconnected from the printer, MID-PRINT. This resulted in incomplete prints which wastes paper and time.

Really not enjoying this change over.its very awkward especially when you have been used to 1thing.but I do like the new settings as in text warp

I’m not sure what happened but I was having a good time using this app until recently when in “design editor” for embroidery. I can add a text and edit the font but that’s it. I cannot edit the text again, to change spelling or add more words. I also cannot add another text to add more words on a new line.
