Good but won’t export to photos
I made my drawing and wanted to export it as video - it looks like it works but no video shows up in photos. Too bad, that’s what I need the app to do.
Brilliant
THE best drawing app there is, now used since it’s beginning over a decade ago. Brushes XP is based on the original Brushes app.

Smudge Tool
Although this is by far my absolute favorite drawing app out there, my only complaint is the fact that there is not a blending/smudging tool. If it could be added to the app possibly next to the eraser icon then the app in my opinion would be PERFECT!
Lost drawings
I have an old version of brushes which no longer updates. How do I retrieve my drawings?! I have bought the new app. Help!
Color issue
I can’t maintain a color while drawing the brush keeps changing whenever I hit the white paper with my pen from black to white.

Basic but good
I like the GUI which is very intuitive and allows very good results with a little bit of practice.
Runs on iPad mini and iPhone5
Contrary to the previous review this app runs on more than the iPad Air. It allows you to choose formats for different screens. It’s simple enough to use that children enjoy it too, especially the ability to rerun the drawing process as a video. Even after a few years I still use it for layering images.

What's the difference?
I paid for this app then downloaded Brushes Redox for free - they look exactly the same! Perhaps i should have saved my money.
Not for iPads unless you have the iPad Air
This Brushes-look-alike does not tell you that it was created for use only with the iPad Air.
I downloaded it on my standard iPad (updated to current standard) but when I tried to creat a paper the window that came up says iPad Air.
I try anyhow to make the new page but it refuses to load, then the app cuts out. After 20 minutes of this I've given up.

Great app - but a couple small improvements would help
This is a really useful step up from brushes 1 that I have used for some time, and is better than the later brushes 3. I really recommend it as a super intuitive lightweight painting app - my favourite.
The one problem I have detected is that connecting to the pressure sensitive pogo connect stylus causes it to crash after one brush stroke. I am writing this here only because I have been unable to contact the developer elsewhere - to login to the support forum requires a password that did not show up in my App Store, as it was supposed to.There were no one her ways to contact the developer that I could find. I hope the developer fixes this - as it would make a great app close to perfect.

Can't Change Canvas Preset
The current version is stuck on iPhone 6, though I am using an iPad Retina, so the canvas size is wrong and can't be changed. Worst, there is no way to register for the support forum because a password is needed which is supposed to be in the app description at the App Store, but is not. I hope the developer will see this because it is of little use right now!

Wait until operating system 8 update
Doesn't work beyond OS6
Very flexible app
A good app for designers, especially its ability to copy separate layers.
BrushesXP
At last a replacement to the excellent Brushes 3. XP seems just as good.
Awful
I should've known from the crappy icon. Says it's been updated for iOS 8 but it's still scaling it's not a native resolution, and you get stuck on a screen that says “loading…”
I'm just so bummed out by the lack of a real Brushes 3 update because Brushes was always the most fun I had on my phone.

Works with IOS8
Minor improvements to a good App. Major improvement for ios8 -it works
for all frustrated Brushes 3 users!
Works with iOS8.
Video export buggy
The one big difference between this paid for version and the free brushes 3 is the export as video function and it is somewhat unreliable.sometimes it works but mostly it stops rendering before it completes and you are left with a time lapse progression video that does not show the completed painting.also a function it does not have that brushes 2 did is a save as hi res function.to save hi res images you need to employ other 3rd party software. If the video export function did not fail so often and a hi res export function was available then it would be worth paying for over the free open source app brushes 3.as this is not the case then the free app is your best bet. Save your cash and go for the free app.
