RX-TX

In the future try to make this app like the android. You could monitor. And talk with that app. That’s all it’s missing

Crashes immediately

After the latest iOS app update, the app crashes immediately after starting. I tried on multiple devices, all devices are running the latest iOS or iPadOS, but all crash immediately after starting.

Immediately Crashes

After the update it crashes when trying to connect to Bluetooth.

New update issues

After this new update, the app will open and shut on its own.

App crashes after new update.

After the recent update, the app crashes within five seconds of launching on iPhone

Doesn’t work

The app crashes as soon as you pair a radio on iOS26. The developer should update the app so that it’s compatible.

Good overall

I wish it had TX and RX via the app but other than that it’s a good app and pairs well with the GMRS Pro. Looking forward to future updates.

Broken

Tried to use the app. Login functionality doesn’t work (sign in/sign up/sign in with Apple). Checking for new firmware doesn’t work. It appears that the URLs the app is trying to connect to don’t work. That’s where I stopped.

Without the app, the radio is less useful than other GMRS radios—stay away until it’s fixed.

Connect Bluetooth

Apple iOS app needs big update. Can I connect to Bluetooth and other functionality issue with the app

IOS much worse than Android

Missing absolutely KEY features like being able to pass through audio. Pretty darn important for, you know, a radio.

iOS lacking features

I bought this radio and downloaded the app. It appears the iOS app disables many features that lead me to buy that radio/app. Misleading...
I like the other parts of this app and the radio is of good quality, but I'm hurt by BTECH misleading customers that have come to trust them over the years. Please remedy asap.

Missing features

Missing a lot of the features the android app has. Also missing features that only the radio is able to do. So much potential with this app.

Drains Battery Overnight

This app started killing my battery from 80-90% overnight to 15-20% in the morning, showing 66 hours, 42 minutes of background usage in a 10 day period. I was not running my GMRS PRO radios during that time. So what was the app doing?

Missing location info for other users

The manual claims (and the android app delivers) showing the other users positions on the map. This doesn’t work in the iOS version. I can message and see the other users listed, their location just doesn’t plot on the map.

Missing RX and TX in app on iOS version

I bought the GMRS-PRO after watching a review that was gushing over how cool it was that you could throw this radio in your backpack and ignore it because of the app and its ability to control the radio over Bluetooth. But the iOS version lacks the ability to transmit or receive audio through the app. I could pair a Bluetooth headset to the radio but then how would I use the PTT from something like a pair of AirPods? VOX? I haven’t found a VOX setting anywhere in the radio. Not that I would use VOX cause it’s an easy way to hog a channel and never hear what your buddy is trying to say to you.

Also, this radio has an incredible tone scanning ability (much better than the TD-H8, which makes sense given the price difference) which can only be activated from the radio. It’d be very nice to get that feature in the app.

Simple. Does what it's supposed to.

I give it 5 stars because it works, doesn't seem to have ads and isn't glitchy. It's super basic to the radios functions, it's not pretty but the UI is easy to understand so long as you can dress yourself and does what it's supposed to reliably. Makes programming channel groups much easier.

Insanely difficult to understand and operate with more than one radio

This radio is pretty much for talking only like a cheap frs. All of the other features are ridiculously difficult to operate requiring tons of key presses and menus to navigate. The radios do what they advertise but are not practical for any average user other than press the button and talk. Good luck.

Misleading Link Be Aware

I downloaded the app and was taken to a page that requested me to create an account with APRS. I created an account and it took me to APRS.com. That is a job company and has nothing to do with A BTech GMRS radio. Once an account is created there is no way to delete it. So beware before clicking on Join Network Channel.

Not the same as the android version

Strangely the iOS version is limited where you can not manually enter a tx freq and can only select from a list of predefined values. The android version is not limited by this.

Great radio, good app, poor manual

I’m an IT guy and know how most things get done. The app should be accompanied by a manual that is a step by step how to. I’ve had to fiddle with it to guess how to get things the way I want. For example, no where are you told how to get the radio to send a text message. The manual says you can, but not how. Also, no where are you told you must program a button to initiate a call tone. Also, Btech tech support emails will only refer you to a page in the manual that says something can be done, but not how to get it done, or whether a menu image is on the radio or the app.
