About

You've asked them to put the phone down. BuckTime! gives them a reason to. Every morning, the whole day's money is already your child's. Time on the apps you chose is the only thing that spends it — so what they don't spend, they keep. You fund it, at an amount you set. And because it's already theirs, the decision becomes theirs too. THE HOURS BACK That's the point of all this. Time off the screen is time at the table, out of the house, asleep at a sensible hour, or bored enough to find something better. Parents don't want a usage chart. They want their kid back in the room. NO CONFISCATION. NO ARGUMENTS. BuckTime! doesn't take the phone away. Nothing is deleted, no door is slammed, and running out of money blocks nothing — the phone still works, it's just no longer the only thing worth doing. Going over is always allowed; it simply costs. Screen time falls because your child chose to walk away, and a choice they made themselves is the one that lasts. It also takes you out of the role of the person who keeps saying no. HOW IT WORKS You answer two questions: how much screen time is reasonable on a school day, and what a day is worth. You pick which apps count. Everything up to that limit costs nothing; past it, every minute spends the day's money. Nothing leaves your hands until you approve it. BUCK BREAKS Optional hours — dinner, homework, bedtime — when screen time costs double. The apps you picked show a BuckTime! reminder screen, which your child can dismiss; it's a nudge, not a lock. They're simply the most expensive minutes of the day to spend, which is what makes them the cheapest to skip. GOALS WORTH WAITING FOR They name something they're saving towards and watch the total climb. You approve every goal, so you always know what they're aiming at. Getting there takes weeks, not minutes — learning to wait is half the lesson. Finished goals go in their trophy case. THREE JARS Earnings split into Spend, Save and Give. You set the split, and on Family you can match what goes into Save or Give. DOUGH'NATE They pick a cause and give some of what they earned. You approve it, they see it land. Generosity means more when it's their own money. MONEY SCHOOL Short lessons on earning, saving, and what things really cost — unlocked as they go. YOU STAY IN CONTROL - Set the daily amount, the goal, the apps and the protected hours - Approve every goal, donation and cash-out - Check device status and screen-time history at a glance - Each child has their own PIN and device PLANS Basic is free and covers one child on one device — earning, cash payouts, Three Jars, Money School, Dough'Nate and the Buck Shop. Family adds unlimited children and devices, a second parent, fitness rewards, parent jar matching and advanced insights. It's an auto-renewing subscription, billed monthly or yearly to your Apple account and cancellable any time in Settings. BuckTime! isn't a bank. It doesn't hold or move your money, there's no card, no account for your child, and no ads. Fewer hours on the screen. A reason to save, a habit of giving, and a kid who knows what an hour of their time is worth.

What's New in BuckTime! Screen Time Rewards

1.0.3

October 2, 2026

Easier setup • Linking your child's phone is simpler: when it's on the same Wi-Fi, it appears on your screen — tap it and confirm two characters. • The first screen now asks whether this is your device or your child's, so it's clear a parent sets things up first. • A child's profile is only saved once their device is linked. More accurate • Screen time on iPhone and iPad is counted more reliably, so a day is no longer counted twice. • Goal summaries, daily money and notifications now match what each day actually pays. • Goal changes take effect the next day, as promised. Widget • A bigger BuckTime! title, and during a Buck Break it shows when the break ends. Reliability • Fixed a problem that could stop the app opening after several updates. • Other fixes and improvements.
