An must have app!
I would love if the app allowed for capitalization and apostrophes. These things come up on my daughter's spelling tests. It's hard to remember to capitalize February when you've been practicing it in lowercase. Overall great app. It keeps improving. I like the expanded quiz mode.
We have a first grader that did not enjoy doing her spelling homework. We would make her copy the words over and over with much whining and complaining. No matter how much we worked with her, she would still get two or three wrong on the weekly tests. We got this app and the next week's test was a perfect score! She enjoys it. We like that we put in that weeks spelling words and that the program doesn't say "wrong" or anything like that, she just can't move a wrong letter while she is still learning the word. This helps our daughter immensely who is sensitive to corrections. I asked my first grader what others should know about why she likes it: " I like that it doesn't yell at me, and that there is a fun reward that is also challenging." This app is perfect to let her work on while cooking dinner. She's doing homework without me having to be over her shoulder. I think a perfect score the next test speaks for itself! I also have to stress that I love the letter tiles to choose from instead of a keyboard. Learning to spell new words was hard enough for her when every possible letter might be out there, now she only has a handful of letters to choose from. That was the main thing I was looking for in this app compared to other spelling apps I saw out there. The graphic interface is perfect!

Strictly spelling- NO phonics
I bought this app assuming there would be a phonics component to it...silly me. This app only identifies letter, no sounds. In order to teach a child to read they need to be able to recognize letters and know what sounds they make. I do not recommend this app to anybody, especially at $2.99. NOT worth a penny.

Good but room for improvements
I love having the ability to add our personalized words! My one suggestion that would GREATLY improve this app would be to have the ability to quiz with the addition of pictures for those that has auditory processing delays
great app!!
my son really enjoys this app!!....the graphics are cute..good sound effects ...i love that this app sounds out the letters....learning and having fun at the same time is a winning combination!!!...thanks for such a great app!!!
Awesome App for early elementary
My kids love this app. Makes spelling fun. I like that it has lists for each grade level from pre-k to 3rd grade. Kids can learn, practice, and take tests. It also keeps track of test scores. You can also make your own customized lists for words the kids are learning in school. Just create the list, add the word and record your pronunciation of the word. Just like that you have a customized test your kids can do narrated by mom and dad!
