About

You only ever take a handful of routes. Bus Habits is not a route list. It is built around your habits — "morning commute", "school run", "heading out after work" — and each one holds the few routes you actually take. Open it at the right time of day and the arrivals you need are already on screen. Nothing to pick, nothing to search. ・Live arrivals for KMB, Citybus, green minibus and the MTR ・Straight from data.gov.hk — the same feed as the sign at the stop ・Up to five routes per habit, which is enough and stays readable ・A reminder before you leave, at a time you choose ・Public holidays can be silenced per habit, so a holiday does not wake you ・A home screen widget, for when opening an app is too much ・iCloud sync, so a new phone is not a fresh start ・No ads, no account, no tracking What it deliberately does not do: No timetables. The open data publishes "next arrival" and nothing else, so inventing a schedule would look useful and be untrue. No Light Rail, trams or ferries — and no red minibuses, which publish no real-time data at all. Arrival times are the operators', as current as they make them. Traffic is traffic. Tips are optional. Nothing is locked behind them.

What's New in Bus Habits

1.2

September 19, 2026

The whole app has been repainted: warm paper, a sky that changes with the time of day, and a few trees that move in the wind. The old dark scheme is still there — pick it in Settings. MTR exits are on the map. All 97 stations and 719 exits, written on the map as labels rather than pinned to it, appearing as you get close and collapsing to a station name when you are not. The data comes from the Lands Department. Stops now say whose they are: a cluster's ring is divided by the KMB, Citybus and minibus stops inside it. All three filters can be switched off. Your own dot keeps up. It used to sit still through seven seconds of walking. The habit list is made of large items, each with its own colour, so one is recognisable before it is read. The day now turns at 09:00 and 18:00 rather than 08:00 and 16:00. To anyone who finishes work at six, four in the afternoon is not the evening.
