Brilliant App

Super App!! Seems to provide thorough information relating to bushfires and close to real time. Fire localities markers; can set up watch zones; advice & other levels of notifications for fire areas, and in my experience including notifications provided by NSW & VIC emergency apps; on map wind direction markers, which is a really helpful quick visual & cuts out having to work it through in your head (like other state emergency apps make you have to); visual plane water bomber & drone localities; road closures marked, which is really helpful if trying to travel and knowing the road is accessible; slightly buggy, but seems more informative than the NSW & VIC emergency apps (based in Australia). Keep up the great work!!

Thank you Nerida, this is exactly the kind of review that keeps us going. The wind markers and watch zones were built because we were frustrated with how other apps did them. Knowing they're useful means everything. The bugs are next on our list.

This app is awesome!

So I downloaded this app after reading a recommendation on the Bonnie Doon Community Facebook page on Saturday, 10th January, 2026. As a systems analyst who has been working on a graph project for 2 years, I’m so impressed with what you’ve built. The data is near real time, data sources/ metadata is included when you drill down, the UI is easy to use and intuitive, the screen design on map view outstanding. Great job team, keep it up. And for anyone wondering, this is a voluntary review that I felt compelled to write based on my use of the app.

Potentially excellent but…

Buggy as hell. Never remembers the last view when loading. Every time I touch the map almost anywhere it opens the standard state-issued warning which I’ve already seen a thousand times. Then often when I tap something the app goes black and reloads to some random view either mid continent or worldwide. The web version seems better although it has it’s own set of bugs.

Used to be amazing

Since the last update you can’t even tap on any of the map disasters to see more info. So it’s useless. Gonna suck not being able to use this app in bushfire season.
