About
CAD Maps turns what is on a screen in front of you into somewhere you can drive to.
Point the camera at the display. CAD Maps reads three things off it:
• the job address
• the location coordinates
• the contact phone number
Then it gives you three big targets you can hit with a thumb, one-handed, at night: navigate to the address, navigate to the exact coordinates, or ring the contact.
TWO LAYOUTS, RECOGNISED AUTOMATICALLY
Some screens put the job in one column and the caller in another. Others label every field on its own line. CAD Maps knows both and works out which it is looking at from the words on the screen. There is nothing to set up and nothing to choose.
IT KNOWS WHOSE DETAILS ARE WHOSE
The address it navigates to is the job's, never the caller's own address — those are often different suburbs, and driving to the wrong one is worse than driving nowhere. The number it offers is the caller's, never one written into the free-text notes, which belongs to somebody else entirely.
IT REFUSES RATHER THAN GUESSES
Coordinates are read by value, not by printed order, so a screen that prints longitude first and one that prints latitude first both come back the right way round. A pair is only accepted when both numbers are complete, carry a decimal point, and land inside Australia. A digit the camera misread, or half a number outside the frame, is discarded — the scanner simply keeps looking. A confidently wrong destination is far worse than an empty field.
BUILT FOR A MOVING VEHICLE
Fields lock in one at a time, so the whole screen never has to be readable in a single frame: the address can land on one frame and the coordinates on the next, and a band of glare crossing the display does not undo what you already have.
WHEN THE CAMERA WILL NOT PLAY
Type it in, or correct any single field the camera got wrong without re-entering the rest.

PRIVACY
Everything happens on your device. Text recognition runs on the phone. There is no server, no account, no sign-in, no analytics and no advertising. Nothing is saved: a read lives in memory until you take the next one. No photo or video is recorded.
CAD Maps is a reading aid. It transcribes what is on a screen; it does not verify it. Always confirm an address or a location against the source before acting on it.
