About

Cadence is my personal hobby app (me and my run club). No ads. No in app purchases. No sign up Runners aim for roughly 170–180 steps per minute to shorten stride and reduce overstriding. Holding an unfamiliar cadence is hard — metronome apps are joyless, and "150 BPM playlists" are approximate and never match your number. Cadence makes the music itself the pacing device. Pick a target cadence and the beat locks to it, with a sample-accurate metronome underneath. AUTO SPM BY PACE Turn on Auto SPM and stop thinking about numbers entirely. Your target cadence follows your live running pace through pace bands you control — slow down for a hill or a breather and the music eases with you; pick it back up and the beat rises to meet you. Fully editable: decide exactly which cadence kicks in at every pace, from easy jog to all-out sprint. TWO WAYS TO GET YOUR MUSIC - Free Music: AI generated original tracks across 10 running-tuned genres, streaming from the cloud and growing over time. Every song retunes in real time (pitch-preserving time-stretch) to your exact cadence — any tempo from 150–200 SPM in steps of 5, so you're never stuck with the "nearest" beat. - Apple Music (optional): connect your subscription and Cadence picks songs whose tempo already matches your target, played through your own account. Requires an active Apple Music subscription. RUN WITH REAL FEEDBACK - A redesigned run screen: target and live cadence pinned up top, with a swipe between your now-playing song and a full panel of stats — elapsed, distance, live and average pace, average SPM - A sample-accurate metronome that clicks right on the beat — 6 sounds, 5 volume levels - An execution score after every run — the percent of time you held at or above target — saved to your private run history - An optional voice coach that calls out your cadence if you drift under target, announces your splits, and confirms Auto SPM changes - Pause tracking on walk breaks, so a breather doesn't dent your stats - A Lock Screen Live Activity and Dynamic Island — pace, cadence, and controls without unlocking BUILT FOR RUNNING - Free Music works fully offline: bundled starter tracks plus up to 200 MB of cached songs, with an OFFLINE badge so you always know what's playable - Keeps playing when your phone locks; pause, resume, and skip from your AirPods or Lock Screen - KM or miles, night mode or light — your call YOUR DATA STAYS YOURS Run history never leaves your phone. Analytics are private and anonymous — we don't know who you are, only that the app works. Just a target cadence, a genre you like, and a run.
