Worthless scam
This app is misleading and useless. It’s free, but it’s little more than a scam to get you to download other equally worthless “guides” for a price. It’s presented in a misleading way to make you think this the Academy’s official app, but it’s not. Really, the Academy ought to be demanding that Apple take it down from the App Store.
This app contains a page of general text about the Academy and a few general photos with no descriptions. The amount of content here is equivalent to what you’d get from a small flyer such as you’d find in a hotel lobby. You’d get far more information by going to the Academy’s own website. There is no detailed information here, and in fact not even a map.
The greatest emphasis is given to the ads for you to download similar “guides”, at a few bucks each. I accidentally bought one of them, thinking that I was downloading more detailed content for this app, and it was even more worthless.

Terrible app
Not much of use for Cal academy visitors.
WARNING!
The Cal Academy of Sciences does NOT have an app. I recently purchased this before going to the California Academy of sciences and once I got there and opened it, I realized it was not their app. I went to the front desk and they said we do not have an app. Do not buy this, do not download it- it is junk.

This app is not an official one or it doesn’t seem like it! It tried to download a bunch of maps to your phone and charge you. The app is not functional on the phone and does not include account access, I assume because it’s not official. Beware!

Can’t access the app info unless you buy their map for $3 its sketchy...

Don’t even waste the space on your phone. This is not even an app. It’s useless and is only designed to get you to purchase something else.
Disappointing
After purchasing, get ready to buy your way in to the app with plenty of additional “unlock” fees. Not at all user friendly either. I wish I had not purchased this app.😕 I just deleted it. It’s so bad I don’t trust it being on my phone.

Can’t get past download screen
I’m in the museum, connected to their WiFi, and I can’t even download the map it requires.

Just a paragraph about the academy basics. Option to buy a museum map freely available on the academy website. Deleted app immediately.

How can you even called us an app? All it is is an ad. There’s no information in it except links to actually buy guides. Who knows if those guides are any good, my guess is that they are not. Hell, this app doesn’t even have a map in it! A total scam. Apple should be ashamed that they let this go onto the App Store.

You can’t use the app unless use pay $3 for a required download. Just go to the Cal Academy website for free.
