Great Concept, Just Missing One Key Feature
I downloaded the California VIP app yesterday and was impressed that (for how new of an app it is) it is relatively easy to navigate. However, one feature I’d love to see added is a search function to quickly look up a business and see if it’s part of the California VIP program. Right now, browsing takes longer than it should, especially if you’re trying to support specific local businesses. With that addition, this app would be a five-star experience!

App is so handy - no book needed
I get a VIP card every year and it saves me a lot on restaurants. If you like to play golf, you definitely would love a card. This year 2024 is awesome, I don’t need to have my book in my car anymore. I just go on this app and it lists everything that we can get discounts for. I love it. I recommend getting a California Vip express card if you are an outgoing person in San Diego and love to go to restaurants.

California VIP card is a great way to check out new restaurants & activities…I also still go back to the places I’ve tried out. I was so excited when they came up with the app! The app is easy to use. I can look up places on the app without having to remember where to go or have the booklet on me. Comes in handy!

Definitely Get a California VIP Book!
I look forward to getting my VIP booklet every year for great discounts around San Diego. I actually go page by page, scrolling through to see who’s new and where I can use it. I’ve loved having the option of using an app now too! If I don’t have the booklet with me I can easily look up the list (of places & activities) to remind me and see what’s offered. Definitely get yourself a California VIP book and use their app to start receiving discounts just like me! ;)

This app makes it so easy to discover new places, awesome restaurants and more. Great discounts all over San Diego, i love it. The most important part is its simple to use.

I wish the app was more updated. Very slow. Can’t see my coupons even though my card is registered. App needs an update ASAP
Completely unusable
The map doesn't work. It just zooms back out and I cannot select any businesses.

Great deals and you’re looked at more as an industry member than a coupon grifter
Get the card
Walk into most bars and clubs VIP style, no line, no cover. well worth it!
Could be useful
The app doesn't even work. You try searching for a location or hit the map icon and the app shuts down. Complete waste unless you like carrying a booklet wherever you go. Might be worth it in the future.
Potential to be cool
The VIP card is awesome and I love using it to find new places in San Diego. The annoying part is carrying around the book of deals everywhere you go. This app seems like not yet ready, but once it's done, it will be really cool.

Good idea but I dont think that they know about customer service and marketing.
App does not work
The app opens and tries to sync but never finishes. I've restarted, deleted and re-installed and nothing fixes it. Once it's fixed I'll be able to provide an updated review. In the meantime the app is useless.

When you first start up the app it freezes on 'syncing' so you have to close it and restart it.
There really isn't anything on the home page except a blank black screen which is pretty bland and boring.
The call button is not set to a phone number only 'null'.
Nothing really exciting on the offer page which will probably never change.
Listing and map of spots in San diego show nothing at all nor can you search for anything.
But like I said, if these problems were fixed you would have a good app.
