Love the idea

It does what it says. The idea is pretty neat and clever, and the UI is beautiful! It trains my eyes into a natural calorie-counting device with no effort, helping me make better choices when I decide what to eat.

It has potential. More foods can be added to the list; many of them are still missing; it can become a complete reference.

And you could include extra features to make it more engaging and interesting; for example a mini game that asks user to pick the item with lowest calories from the two given foods of the same size (almost similar to app’s β€œcompare” section).

On the downside, finding food is frustrating; needs an added simple alphabetical word list. There’s sadly no email to contact developers directly. And the giant mismatching photo of spinach is slightly on my nerve! Is that a bug, or simply your favourite food? :)

Anyway, it needs an update. At the moment it looks like an orphan app with no future: too risky to pay to unlock.

Correct?

Some things seem correct and others are not. For instance 1 large egg is 72 calories. This app show approximately 1.5 eggs as 200 calories. WRONG.

Hmm

Who cares about calories?

Negative Reviews Show Why App Needed

I was concerned about the low ratings on this app. Then I read the negative reviews. They were filled with people's misconceptions about how many calories common foods have. As someone who has been diligently tracking the calories in every possible food I can eat and finally successfully lost 40 lbs in the last 8 months, going from 28% body fat to 11% body fat, I can vouch that these pictures are accurate.

I think people are especially thrown by the amount of calories in bread products. "Really? A bagel has over 200 calories??" Yes, really. Moments of shock and calibration like this have been the building blocks of my success over the last 8 months and apps like this help spread that knowledge.

Very slow

Paid for the app but very disappointed. The app takes forever to load the images and content!

Only shows 200 calories and needs money for all photos!

.

App with an educational purpose

Simple app that shows you what "calorie density" really is ! A smart way to engage people into making a healthier choice. I guess it can be as a client tool for dietitian or health professionals:)

How big is the plate

That would help a lot

Fantastic Idea

Its a great way to make comparisons between food calories and weights

A bit pointless

Expected this app to maybe have increments of a 100 calories to show you how much each looks like, but no, it's just a slideshow of photos containing foods that equal 200 calories, and you have to PAY to see all the photos. Outrageous

Wrong info...

A quickly looked at some images and I found some wrong info... example Brown Rice vs. White Rice... They show that you can have more white rice than brown rice?? Something like 5x more (not sure anymore because I deleted the app quickly after that...) Not a good app to rely on.

Poor game

Complete waste of time don't bother to download! You can't do anything without buying the full app furthermore it won't allow you to track what you're eating and put it in a diary.

Not useful

If this were combined with a calorie tracking app it would be useful.

Unlocking

Has no instructions how to unlock foods...does this involve in app purchase? Banner just says, connect to Internet..doh!!😩

All u need

This app is all u need to to develop a very accurate sense of how much calories are there in ur food. Without callculating and weighing ur food. Awesome.

Has potential

If the calculation is accurate then this is a GREAT way to figure out how much you are eating. Need more verity though so please add more!

Little usefulness

First off, the calorie content is extremely inaccurate. For example, it says two and a bit more potato is 200 kcal, whereas in fact 1 common potato is about 110 kcal.
There are also very little food varieties.
The plate size is unidentified.
Even to the same food, different variation could vary a lot in terms of their energy.

I so regretted paying money for this app. I mean I like the fact that you make it very vivid and visualized, but there are so many errors and potential improvement that could've been made.

Visually pleasing

THIS IS AN AMAZING IDEA !!!

βœ…βœ…βœ…

Really clever idea. Can't wait for more!

I like it!

This is very helpful for visual learners! I notice many European foods are listed; we could use more common American options, too. I appreciate being able to visually compare volumes of different foods with the same caloric value. This is a useful app for retraining my estimations of what I'm eating!
