Cambio: Memory Card Game

Cambio is the card game you learn in a hostel common room and end up teaching everyone you know. Four cards face down in front of you. You saw two of them once. Keep your total low, remember what you have, and call Cambio before someone beats you to it. Also known as Cabo, Pablo, Cactus, or Golf. Same game, correct rules, nothing to argue about. HOW IT PLAYS • Start with four face-down cards and peek at two. Then remember them. • Each turn, draw from the deck or take the discard, then swap or discard. • Discard a 7 or 8 to peek at your own card. A 9 or 10 spies on an opponent. Jacks blind-swap. Queens peek, then trade. • When any card hits the discard pile, snap a matching card from your hand to shed it. A wrong snap earns a penalty card. • Black kings are worth zero. Red ones will ruin your night. • Think you have the lowest hand? Call Cambio. Everyone gets one final turn, then all cards flip.
