Great way to learn another language!
Great idea - needs some work
I found it a bit tricky to navigate, and it kept giving me English songs to translate into English. The voice recognition also didn’t really work - kept thinking I was saying ‘cream’ or ‘time’ instead of the word ‘came’.
I think this app is an absolutely brilliant idea and a novel approach to learning languages - I just think it needs a bit more work before I would re-download.

Refund needed
Need a refund. Response was to make them look good - they have refused to refund me and stated that Apple control all refunds so they just have my money. Scammers!

Too much faff

Canary is intentionally built with learning features beyond just playing music, things like lyrics, translations, quizzes, karaoke, vocabulary saving, and more. We understand that may feel like “too much” if you were only looking to casually listen to songs, but calling the app useless for trying to actually teach languages feels a bit unfair.
A very cool way to learn a new language
I initially thought it would be simply songs with translations, but the app offers so much more like quizzes, karaoke, grammar points and vocabulary linked to the song picked. There is
an impressively large music catalog so each of us according to our level will find a song that we like!
The whole experience is fun, engaging, and motivating. In just a few minutes a day, you can naturally learn a lot without feeling like you are studying in a traditional way.
It’s a great alternative for people who do not really classic learning methods like in school…Personally, I use it to refresh my Spanish, and I find the concept effective and enjoyable.
To be honest it is an innovative and well-designed app. Thanks!

The review screen getting stuck was actually a bug, and we’ve fixed it in the latest update. Also, you can absolutely exit the pricing page without paying and use the free version, or start a trial. We clearly need to make this more obvious, so thanks for pointing it out 🙏

Thanks for the feedback. We do have hundreds of free songs available, including for Japanese, but it’s true that some features and content are part of Premium. We’re trying to balance offering a free experience while also supporting the costs of building and improving the app every day.
