Love, but it’s hard to select pics!
I love this app but I think it’d be great if we could select pictures/videos faster, with a swipe of your finger on each row or something!
Laggy - shaky connection - frustrating
I’ve been using this app for years. With the company as big as Canon you would think that they would invest a little bit more development time into making this app more stable. Keeping your camera connected to the phone is a constant struggle. As another grievance, it’s a bit self-defeating to have to keep the app up on your phone in order for automatic transfer while shooting to work. For that to be a great feature, I’d want to be able to turn my phone screen off and put it in my pocket and when I turned my phone back on, I would expect to see all of the images that I just took readily available to do whatever it is I need to do with them. Canon, you can do much better.

Limited functionality - hyper complicated connection to iPhone
Connecting the SX740 IS camera to an iPhone is laborious and hit & miss. You need to go through several different menus on camera and phone which are confusing and don’t exactly correspond to those listed in the manual. Unless you get all the settings right it doesn’t work. Once you manage it, it uses Bluetooth to sync location and date & time but to do anything else the camera produces a wifi signal, which is used to transfer images and control remote shooting. It then remembers the links and connects next time. So far so good. BUT although the images get the correct location and date/time on the camera, the transferred images get the time of the transfer, not when they were taken, on the phone. The transfer date/time bug is a real disappointment. I shall have to go back to USB or SD card adaptor transfers, like on my old camera. And we are told that it’s possible to link more than one mobile device (just using one at a time) but you can’t. If you try that you have to delete the first one and the second one won’t link at all, so you have to clear all the camera preferences, close the app, restart the phone, to get the first one back in contact.

Literal Spyware and Privacy Nightmare
This app calls home to graph.facebook.com every time you launch it. This is an invasion of privacy and shouldn’t be a part of an app used for enabling geotagging of photos on cameras that didn’t include GPS hardware despite costing thousands of dollars.
Canon, you need to remove this and get telemetry data somehow else. I did not consent to facebook tracking and I still hit “I do not allow” inside my profile. Despite this, it still tries to call out to graph.facebook.com anyway.

So frustrating app
I had this out for several months with no issues Until a couple of weeks ago, I started having issues with downloading photos. I have really great Internet so that not the issue. The issue is right in the middle of downloading Photos it stops. Having to go back and reconnect the camera just so I can finish downloading all the photos. I have notice even when deleting the app and reinstalling it did not fix the issue either. I am also noticing there has been no bug fixes in the updates as well. guess I’m gonna have to find another app now so sad.
