Used to be able to connect my phone to the cameras WiFi and transfer photos. But now, I can’t open the app without an internet connection or without signing in to an account. Never had to do that when I used it in the past. So basically can not be used to transfer photos or control the camera anymore.

Clunky and awkward
App and phone do not stay connected
I used to use this app easily all the time and now it has stopped being able to “talk” to my phone. The WiFi option doesn’t stay connected anymore. It used to be so easy to download my pictures to my phone but now it doesn’t work anymore.

Unreliable and aggravating
Canon must improve its app. It tells me to stop using the camera’s wifi, then it tells me it can’t connect because the camera’s wifi is off. Then it takes an eternity to connect (that is, it does not connect). But it gives an in process signal which makes you think it is trying to connect. Hello Canon-please make an app as good as your cameras. Would give it zero stars if possible. I admit it works sometimes but it takes way too much failed attempts before success. And then it fails again. And its instructions are completely unintelligible -so brief as to be cryptic. Tear my hair out.

Privacy improvements plus bug fixes needed
In order to download my photos from my camera to my phone via the app I have to give the app access to all the photos in my phones library. I have thousands of photos taken on my phone and see no reason I should have to allow canon to have access to these in order to have the privilege to download my photos taken on my camera. To protect my privacy and data I have to screenshot and resize all my photos from the app.
Additionally the app is often buggy and difficult to connect to wifi, and never seems to connect via Bluetooth.
I love my camera I just wish canon would put the same care into making the app work as well.

Requires login for no reason
I still can’t get over that Canon requires a login for something that should require no Internet login, especially given the considerable amount of money Canon has obtained from its customers already… so why they need our data too doesn’t make sense.
The find the app awkward to use on an iPhone. I suspect it’s better on a big screen (I.e. iPad) and it feels like the poor interface design, particularly when browsing images, is because it’s designed around bigger screens. For example, when viewing photos in landscape mode (I.e. rotating the phone itself), horizontal bars across the top and bottom of the screen mean that images are as small as in portrait view. Zooming in works, but one has to zoom out again to scroll to the next picture.
Connectivity with the camera is annoying. Getting it set up is easier these days than it used to be with older cameras, but it feels like there is constant switching between Bluetooth and/or WiFi as different functions of the app are used. As a result, it feels quite slow to use.
It feels like this app has been designed by people who haven’t tried actually using it on an iPhone.

Slow app
Connection takes way to long. App worked once and never again. Just go get an sd card reader

I haven’t used my digital camera in years. Family has professional photographers or iPhone photos done. Somehow reproducing older pictures has failed except ones I took with digital camera. Having to relearn but having fun doing it.
Connecting to Camera is buggy and a pain
For how expensive this camera is you’d think it would be easy to connect to it. Total pain in the log aperture.

Can’t use app
This was super useful before but now there appears to be no way to skip creating a Canon account to use it. Can’t think of any reason that I need to be signed in so I’ll just live without the app.

Not connecting to any of my cameras. Not sure why. I followed all the instructions on the app and camera.
Can’t connect to camera if I don’t have internet???
The app insists I sign in to Canon just to connect to my camera for remote control. WAY too much trouble. If I’m remote with no cell service, and want to take night shots? If I’m at a family gathering and want to be in a group picture??? VERY frustrating.
