Love, but it’s hard to select pics!

I love this app but I think it’d be great if we could select pictures/videos faster, with a swipe of your finger on each row or something!

Laggy - shaky connection - frustrating

I’ve been using this app for years. With the company as big as Canon you would think that they would invest a little bit more development time into making this app more stable. Keeping your camera connected to the phone is a constant struggle. As another grievance, it’s a bit self-defeating to have to keep the app up on your phone in order for automatic transfer while shooting to work. For that to be a great feature, I’d want to be able to turn my phone screen off and put it in my pocket and when I turned my phone back on, I would expect to see all of the images that I just took readily available to do whatever it is I need to do with them. Canon, you can do much better.

Limited functionality - hyper complicated connection to iPhone

Connecting the SX740 IS camera to an iPhone is laborious and hit & miss. You need to go through several different menus on camera and phone which are confusing and don’t exactly correspond to those listed in the manual. Unless you get all the settings right it doesn’t work. Once you manage it, it uses Bluetooth to sync location and date & time but to do anything else the camera produces a wifi signal, which is used to transfer images and control remote shooting. It then remembers the links and connects next time. So far so good. BUT although the images get the correct location and date/time on the camera, the transferred images get the time of the transfer, not when they were taken, on the phone. The transfer date/time bug is a real disappointment. I shall have to go back to USB or SD card adaptor transfers, like on my old camera. And we are told that it’s possible to link more than one mobile device (just using one at a time) but you can’t. If you try that you have to delete the first one and the second one won’t link at all, so you have to clear all the camera preferences, close the app, restart the phone, to get the first one back in contact.

Literal Spyware and Privacy Nightmare

This app calls home to graph.facebook.com every time you launch it. This is an invasion of privacy and shouldn’t be a part of an app used for enabling geotagging of photos on cameras that didn’t include GPS hardware despite costing thousands of dollars.

Canon, you need to remove this and get telemetry data somehow else. I did not consent to facebook tracking and I still hit “I do not allow” inside my profile. Despite this, it still tries to call out to graph.facebook.com anyway.

So frustrating app

I had this out for several months with no issues Until a couple of weeks ago, I started having issues with downloading photos. I have really great Internet so that not the issue. The issue is right in the middle of downloading Photos it stops. Having to go back and reconnect the camera just so I can finish downloading all the photos. I have notice even when deleting the app and reinstalling it did not fix the issue either. I am also noticing there has been no bug fixes in the updates as well. guess I’m gonna have to find another app now so sad.

关于数据线传输照片到手机的严重问题

所有照片的时间被记录为导入手机的时间,而不是拍摄时间!什么7时候能修复?手机是iPhone15PRO,相机是R8,

Flaky App is Flaky

While importing g photos the app frequently, as in almost every time, gets through X amount of photos and videos before flaking out and returning to the main screen forcing the tedious reconnect and figuring out which photos still need to be imported dance.

There are also tho ga lime why even bother having the Bluetooth connection when it always automatically switches to WiFi anyway. And why can’t we select WiFi connection to start with?

I really would have expected a lot better from Canon. I actually prefer to physically take the card out of the camera, find one of those adapters and stick that into my laptop. At least it works and doesn’t take a million years just to grab some shots off your camera.

Ups and downs

Really complicated to download and upgrade should make it more easier

Great unpretentious app for Canon ELF

I’ve used the camera for travel since 2018-ish. The app makes it easy to transfer photos so that I can share them through my phone. I can’t believe the camera is still going strong!

Absolute rubbish

I cannot connect my SX70 camera to this app. It keeps on searching. A complete disaster when compared with the quality of their excellent cameras. To be let down by their app is not very sensible.

Easy peasy

I love how easy the app is to maneuver, simple quick and easy

It’s not that good…but it’s not that bad

After seeing recent reviews I wasn’t going to download it but since I don’t have the right cables/SD card reader it was a last resort. Yes making an account is unnecessary but it does what I need it to do, which is transfer images from my canon to my iphone. I haven’t tried videos but photos upload just fine, it was a little tricky setting the connection up but is fine once there. My only issue is that I can’t see therefore upload my whole camera roll - when I have photoshoots or have saved edited photos on the camera I can see them, but individual shots on random days are nowhere to found and I’ve checked filters etc… I can’t see them. This is fine for me since it’s only recently been handed to me but it groups photos in time frames and skips bits in between eg. seeing photos from two weeks ago, then a day in 2025, a day in 2024 then skips back to 2020/19 even though there are many images in between. For now, it’s fine but may change review if this becomes a problem.

Doesn’t work

I’ve been able to use this app without issues for several months. Updated the app and now when I register my camera again and connect to the WiFi, it’s stuck on a screen and won’t load. I deleted and reinstalled the app and it won’t work at all. So frustrating.

Still can’t get it to work

I have tried everything, but it won’t download my photos

Not working

Terrible canon app!

sucks

the worst app to use. want to connect to my camera, but had to register camera first. to register, need to connect to camera using phone. what a nice loop!!!

Connection

Depuis mon changement de téléphone (iPhone 15 pro vers iPhone 17pro) et la mise à jour appareil photo impossible de connecter de façon fluide et parfois même impossible ! J’aurai mis 5 étoiles avant ça

Fail: why does it need an online account?

Just tried to use this app for the first time in a while to grab some photos quickly off my camera to share while on holiday and found it now requires an online account. WHY????!!!!! No need and I don’t want it. Totally unnecessary. I can’t even launch the app without an internet connection, which I often don’t have when I want to take photos off my camera. I won’t be using this app again and now I have to remember the USB camera kit on future trips so I can plug the memory card directly in to my phone. Stupid move Canon.

Full access to Photos just to save images?

Please change the way to save photos from camera. Why does canon app need full access to my photos? Every other app just works fine with limited access except canon. Please make the changes.

Doesn’t need to be this invasive

The app wants to track everything. Just to connect a camera to a phone it needs to know name, email, phone number, location at all times, etc. etc. It’s completely unnecessary and I don’t recommend Canon products for this reason, I will certainly not be choosing them again.

To top it all off the wireless connection is finicky and if your phone goes to sleep you have to set it up all over again.
