Consumer beware
The app does exactly what it says it does, very useful for blocking adult content. I tried it on both my PC and phone.
However, The app nearly bricked my computer to the point I could barely use it and noticeably slowed the performance of my phone. What made me decide to uninstall was the AI accountability partner feature. As soon I tried it, I started getting Israeli-based ads on my social media. Made me feel very uncomfortable about what exactly I had installed on my device.

Random inconsistent charges
Everything started off good, but for some reason they went from charging me $15.99 a month to $99.99 a month and support has been no help. Whatever you do, absolutely do not trust this company, they will steal from you.
Best App
This app has done exactly what I needed it to. It blocks out things that I don’t need/want to see. It gives me a piece of mind.
Issues with using apps on CarPlay.
Heard great things about Canopy from a friend and wanted to use this instead of Covenant Eyes. I do appreciate all of the features when it comes to proactive blocking and screening and the fact that there is device removable prevention so that you can’t take it off of your devices.
However, there is a huge when it comes to using my phone in general in CarPlay in the car. I’ve noticed that after I enabled removal prevention, my CarPlay is not working properly. Music and podcast start lagging and glitching as well as using navigation like Apple maps or Google maps.
I really wanna keep using this app for all huge benefits, but especially as someone who drives everywhere and anywhere and needs navigation, this could cause a huge hindrance. If the team could fix this ASAP, I’ll more than happy give five stars!

Terrible
I just wanted to try this app out and now I can not uninstall it. I press remove canopy and it takes me AI Ally, which then takes me back to remove canopy and then that directs me to AI Ally. Would not recommend at all
Intermittent Internet issues & more
With the new iOS update, I’ve gone the entire day with horrible internet issues, apps not loading and working properly. I’ve had issues with Google Chrome on my MacBook where I’ve been having to constantly hit enter to enter into a website because my internet is going out. I can’t login to a public WiFi like at a Marriot hotel. All of our other devices work fine, but the devices we need canopy on are only experiencing these issues. Canopy is the culprit. Having an accountability partner and blocking adult sites is great, but it shouldn’t come at the expense of intermittent internet issues on their VPN.

Tech nightmare
Absolutely horrible experience. These apps hijack the device. Installation is a total mess. The help desk is a chirpy AI idiot. Cannot reach a human once your device is all locked up.
Awful - Bricked my Computer
Once I found out this is an Israeli-based company that routs all your traffic directly through Israeli servers, I decided to delete it. Once I did, I couldn’t access the internet and had to do some obnoxious troubleshooting
Waste of money
Had canopy for 3yrs small increments of improvement latest issue is screen time tab is missing on desktop and IOS and Android. Customer service has always been trash but most of these apps are usually so I don’t expect much. Price is expensive and not worth renewing. Running 2laptops and 3 devices. Microsoft and Xfinity do better in monitoring and their interface is so much easier to use. Canopy has become so clunky and overly added trash options that don’t work. I’ve tried reaching out to customer service for help but gave up . Run away or pay if you like to throw money away. I should add a go fund me account that will be money better spent!

Does not work as advertised
I tried so may different suggestions from the AI “support”. I could not access the internet at all from any apps. Once Canopy installed even basic local network access stopped working. Rebooted, removed other vpns (TailScale), etc. Uninstalled canopy and everything was back. I wasted a lot of time trying to tweak the configuration too. Make sure things work while in trial.

The app doesn’t protect you from anything except doing weird things to my internet, couldn’t log into my Tesco club card and other things just a silly app. I would like a refund. Absolutely impossible to remove protection if you set up ai ally I’m actually fuming

As a kid, I feel like this app is spying on me. If you say this is exaggerating remember that this is not. WELL LOOK AT THE DOG (referring to a parental control app called “bark”) IT IS CHEWING ON FAIRNESS ITSELF
Terribly buggy, AI won’t let you do things
This was advertised as “built by tech people.” Yet it is extremely buggy. My son started at a new school, and Canopy is preventing all internet access. I tried overriding it temporarily to test if that fixed the problem, and the AI bot said “no.” When I explained that I was the Father and owner of the account, it still said no. Ridiculous.

Prevented Normal Tasks
Good idea, poor execution. Maybe it works better for others, but Canopy has prevented me from doing normal tasks on my Macbook, like using the internet for pretty much anything. This is even after messing with the settings to the best of my abilities. Will be checking out Covenant Eyes instead.
Works good enough
Misses a lot of stuff. Doesn’t block all images that should.
App will inaccurately block sites
Some emails will be blocked, shopping websites, service apps and much more.
From what I can see it’s useless
Didn’t look great from the start. App kept freezing during setup (on an iPhone 14 Pro Max) so had to keep refreshing it. After that I tried to change one of the categories to enhanced filtering instead of fully blocked but the option is greyed out. When I went to use the “customer support” you get I realised it’s just a chatbot that continually gave me “A problem on our end occurred” error messages and was never able to answer my question regarding how to fix the greyed out options.

Use caution
I canceled my subscription during the trial and they still charged me for the subscription. I’m currently fighting this transaction with them as they have been very slow to resolve this issue.
