Great game!

This might be the only phone game I still play. It’s fun, challenging, and satisfying. The ads are extremely unobtrusive (they aren’t even on the game board itself) and there’s no videos you have to watch. My main gripe is that it’s clear some players are cheating, but that’s not nimblebit’s fault. My secondary gripe is that the App Store message to rate the app won’t go away, I see it multiple times a day even though I have rated the game. Maybe this review will finally put a nail in that coffin???

Annoying

I like the game. I’m annoyed that it prompts me to review it every time. Giving it five stars is insufficient. I had to type this to make it stop so it loses a star for every minute of my life lost typing this. Yes. I type slowly.

Unique and fun word game!

This game went away for a while, but it’s back and I’m glad because I love playing, although I believe there are people on there that cheat and look up words online to make. There are far too many hard words used by a couple of people I play against, to the point where I say, there’s no way one person knows all these random long words that I’ve never heard of. And I know a lot of words.

Anyway, I enjoy playing with the honest people who aren’t cheaters. I do, however, wish some of the things from the first version were on this second one. I miss being able to send brief, prewritten words and comments. It was fun. Also having the stats against other players was cool, too.

I wish you had kept the original version and just built a little on it, that’s all I’m saying.

Challenging, fun!

A simple concept that is surprisingly complex. Also really fun to play with friends. I’ve been obsessed for weeks now!

New Game

This is my favorite game but I enjoyed playing the original better.’

LongTimePlayer

Hopelessly addicted to this game forever

Same phone multiplayer?

Why did they get rid of same phone multiplayer??? It used to be so fun. But now it’s gone?

No pass and play

Capitals used to have a pass and play on one device option, but it’s gone now, which means y ok u can’t even play with a friend without literally texting them a link

It's ok

I miss the OG Caps. Where's the sound on this game? This one doesn't have the pass'n play which is a bummer! And the OG Caps had better icon design. I would also like to suggest possible design themes...NEON!

Thank you for taking the time to check out my review!

Some Wishes

I love this game. I highly recommend it. Some wishes I have; more reliable dictionary (it often errors out), the ability to play one game with a robot opponent (for when other humans aren't available to play and you don't want to keep adding more games), and more information on each opponent in the stats (I'd love to see the shortest game per round, the longest, and the average rounds for each opponent). My shortest is around 3 rounds and my longest is over 200, which I find more interesting than only win or lose. Also, as with another reviewer, my game is incessantly having pop-ups telling me about the games I've lost and to long press in order to delete a word; I've been having to click out of them an annoying amount of times the whole time I've played this game. It would be nice to get rid of both of those pop-up issues. Thanks for such a fun game!

Not bad. Problems abound.

I began playing this game and found it was quite fun. Occasionally it will leave me with no way to start the game as I have no vowels, or on occasion no consonants. And with no way to PASS my turn or try to trade a couple tiles I’m left unable to proceed. Seems to be a case of little effort in development and no attempt to correct it?

A great word game!

Capitals is a great game for anagram lovers. Combines anagram finding skill with tactical decisions about capturing territory on a board game.
This game initially faded into obscurity when the dev apparently couldn’t find a monetization mechanic that didn’t put off users. The game is now completely free without 3rd party ads, with only a small non-intrusive menu option informing you of the developers other games.

Needs singleplayer mode

This is an awesome game, but it could really do with a singleplayer/vs. bot mode bc people are never on lol

Annoying pop ups

These keep popping up unnecessarily when it’s your turn to play. GET IT STOPPED.

Promising

As a former enthusiast, I’m delighted to see Capitals back again. It looks like the game mechanics are basically the same as ever, but a few of the old features are missing.

It would be nice to have the ability to block certain players; I’ve already encountered one idiot who is trying to impersonate others.

Rad

Still a good game. I remember playing it about 10 years ago. A feature I miss is the local play, being able to have a round at a restaurant with a friend or family member was good times.

Really fun but also buggy

I really enjoy playing this game with friends to pass the time. Recently, I’ve been having an issue with the game not finding the game ID when I want to play a random opponent and I cannot find any answers on how to fix that. Assuming it’s a bug in the game that hasn’t been addressed yet. Other than that, I like the game
