Slow and buggy

Nothing loads. When I did get as far as unlocking a bike it just froze

Complete garbage since bought by capmetro

I used to use the old bikes privately owned with no problem. Now that it's been bought by the city, it's impossible to sign up via the app. tried two different cards and refused all of them with no idea of why. It's the only bike that works around ladybird lake so way to ruin the trip for so many visitors to Austin! Get your s together cap metro!

Easy to set up

The app is straight forward when coming to scanning your bike, and especially for the price compared to other bike apps it is worth it unlike Lime it has pedals and you can get an unlimited ride for the whole day but you have to return the bike then scan it again.

Decent overall

Decent overall service.

Never any problems with the lock and unlock actions.

Decent network in downtown and central east Austin. Never have any problems with no bikes at stations.

Things to improve:
1. It sends a welcome to the first of many rides pus notification every time I go on the bikes. It made sense the first time but doesn’t anymore.
2. $150 a year is kinda steep. I feel $100 was fair.
3. Handles get a little sticky from what seems like the handle rubber degrading in the sun.

Please keep going. This service is very useful!

Can’t add Card

Useless app. Downloaded it to bike around Austin, TX. Can’t even add a card payment on the app. It says “We apologize something went wrong. Please try again.”

Doesn’t work

Won’t take my card. Tried 3 cards. Just keep getting something went wrong. Do better Austin.

Totally worthless app

Go out of my way way to go to one of these stations, Downloaded the app, fill in the profile info and then try to put my credit card. Tried three different cards and it just gives an error every time.

should be so simple

literally cant even get a year subscription. i put in all my card info and it just doesn’t work.

edit: i am gay.

they only accept credit cards.

Terrible

Absolutely terrible app. It would make sense if the bike racks took cash or something but the only way to use the bikes is through the app and the app doesn’t even work. Completely useless.

Constant error message

There's a constant error message saying there's an error when signing up I've tried on my account. My girlfriend's tried on her account and we keep getting the same thing. We can't even use the bikes everyone coming up to the bikes are getting the same issue with the app

should be so simple

literally cant even get a year subscription. i put in all my card info and it just doesn’t work.

Unauthorized charge

Capmetro placed a $39 unauthorized charge in my credit card. I would not use them to rent a bike. Never again. I had to do a dispute through my bank. The app never works correctly.

Buggy

Something went wrong… tell me what or fix it

Super useful 🙌

It’s the best choice if you want to go somewhere and you don’t want to wait for the bus or it’s easier to get by bike. I love there are plenty stations to pick and drop.

Adding Credit Card didn‘t work

Wasted 30 Minutes. No useful Error or anything. Tried 3 Cards → Something went wrong🤷🏽‍♂️

Needs not Wants

Unlock and ride with mostly ease (a little locking up during scan). Easy to return.

App can do nothing you want it to. which is grab a bike then navigate to a location. I can only navigate when it works, which is rarely to another bike drop which means you have to get the spot you need to go or the corner that you need to go via Google maps then come back to the rideshare app to find the rideshare drop point closest to that. So it becomes virtually unusable except for grabbing a bike. I wanna use it to cruise the city and see the sites. I don’t want to use it to just use it to the one place I wanna go in the drop point that I know exist.
They would be better off just serving Google maps with bike set as default route and allow you to search for things like in google maps. Honestly I’m blown away by how bad the UX really is. I can’t believe anyone that has worked on this app has ever actually used the service

High fares

Will rewrite this review once they readjust the fares.

What is CapMetro doing about the fault app

Tried to purchase a monthly pass keep getting on error message Looked at my account I see CapMetro $24.00 but I don’t have a pass. What’s up with that?

Not taking card info

It keeps saying card not authorized with any card I try. This has been happening for months

Incompetent customer service

App not taking credit card and they just keep telling me to try other cards (Its my problem). There was another guy right beside me having the same issue and talking to customer service not getting results either. I followed all their steps and it still did not work. They simply said there is nothing they can do but that it was not on their end. Absolutely absurd. Don’t plan to use them. They ruined our whole day with their ridiculous, apathetic. and incompetent service
