It's a dead app. No engagement, no activity. While other apps offer more and have more audiences. It also does not accept higher size files?it is really sus for an art social media. It honestly seemed it is poorly made with no activity.
Cara is a wonderful platform for amazing human artists
I’m so sad to hear about the attacks from Ai users it’s so disgusting and breaks my heart as an artist. i’ve been on Cara before but left for a while only to hear about these Ai attacks. It’s unbelievable and so inhumane. I just cannot believe how disgusting and downgrading Ai has become towards human-made:environmental and innovated things like art, our planet and etc.
I hope Cara can recover from this it’s truly sad to see such artist communities being attacked by people who use an inhumane, thieving and environmentally destroying program and call themselves “artists” wow.

Forced updates
Opened the app today to find that I'm blocked from using it until I update. That is user-hostile garbage. Don't do that.

Ai Attack
Recently there was a Reddit thread on r/“defendingai” that they managed to scraped all of Cara data on artists works alike. As an artist myself I barely used Cara but only known about it when Twitter was going down so I decided to post some of my art there to see its momentum go nowhere as it was riding the train of twitter exodus but to see an entire app data gets infiltrated by Ai Crapists makes this whole lot worse. I hope anyone reading this don’t ever visit this app ever again.

Entire site scrapped for AI
The entire draw of this app was to protect artists from having their art from being used to teach AI. Well the entire website got hit and over 12TB of images have been fed into AI. Great job guys. This is why artists don’t trust websites anymore.

I’ve been using Cara for a good bit now, and it’s a great alternative compared to other apps like it.
I hope Cara sticks with its original purpose and never caves towards AI in the future.

Honestly, very good app for sharing art. Basically just art social media.

Great artist community!
I get way more traction and engagement here than instagram can ever afford! Love the hard NO AI stance!
But it would be nice to hide a post I don’t like so that it no longer keeps showing up on the feed.
I would also really really really love to edit thumbnails. I’ve made mistakes of not editing nice thumbnails before and it just makes my portfolio look so ugly ;_; it would be nice to have more leeway to polish our portfolio in that regard.
Also I can’t seem to access my bookmarks on the app. At least not in an easily accessible way.
But it would be nice to hide a post I don’t like so that it no longer keeps showing up on the feed.

AI detectors feed everyone's work into AI.
I love the idea of an art app/website without AI... but this uses an AI detector. AI detectors are known for messing up. They're literally AI. Your app/website is still feeding these artists' work into AI.

Super thankful someone is trying to build a space for artists that isn’t Instagram but the censorship ON A PLATFORM FOR ARTIST is insane! I’ve seen so many sexualized images people have drawn of topless woman that are ok cause of “expression” but am not able to upload any of my character work containing a woman without a shirt cause of the climate she lives in and it’s got a visible nipple in it…… stop only allowing images you can sell to get past censorship. Nudity in art is the least of your worries!! Make it make sense

Breath of fresh air
It’s to refreshing to use an app that doesn’t push algorithm favored content. I can actually see new posts, and posts with low like counts instead of just the posts running numbers like on Instagram. Seems like a solid little community of artists on here. I hope more people can join. So far so good! I’m loving being able to share my art with others and meet new people, rather than become buried in sea of posts and get 0 interactions online.
