New Layout is Terrible

First, the app is good if you have no idea what supplements you should be taking for what you’re wanting to do. You answer some questions and it will suggest the best items but you can pick and choose and switch them out as you see fit each month. So highly customizable. And they provide points for remembering to take your supplements and what not. That’s really all I needed. I did not need this new layout that has self care nonsense on it. Wash your face, take a shower, etc. I just wanted to buy supplements. Now when I try to click on things if you don’t click just right it swipes the whole dang page and doesn’t even register that I tapped. Which means that you don’t get your points. I’ve missed my points on more than one occasion because of this. Also price wise this is not geared towards people of low socioeconomic status. Got to love gatekeeping of self care and personal health. Thankfully I pay with my insurance FSA card so essentially I pay nothing but the prices truly need to be lowered. Just because someone is poor doesn’t mean they should be excluded from being healthy. So they lost a star for this crappy new layout (really wish I could get rid of the update and go back to the old layout of the app) and they lost a star for gatekeeping healthcare/self-care.

Hi Shawna - thanks for taking the time to share your review! As we continue to grow, we always want to make sure the app is developing with you in mind. As for the trackable activities, we're happy to let you know that you can keep your habits as simple as you'd like! You can definitely just track your vitamin intake if that is what works best for you. However, we are sorry to hear that you're having trouble with the app, please reach out to us at hello@takecareof.com and we will gladly assist with troubleshooting! Lastly, over the past few years, many of our suppliers have had to raise their prices for ingredients and manufacturing, which in turn has impacted us here at Care/of. Our mission has always been to provide you with the highest quality ingredients available. We do offer discounts, including redeeming your hard-earned points for store credit. Feel free to reach out to us at hello@takecareof.com for more information.

Finally was able to track the prior day that was under 30 min ago

I feel like just about everything I hoped we could do with the tracking portion of the app has happened with the revamp! I was never worried about my points but was worried because occasionally taking my nighttime vitamin right after midnight couldn’t be tracked- bothered me that it would say 3 days tracked, 5 days tracked even though I do consistently take my vitamin.

I’ve been enjoying the (sibling app) Routine greatly in the meantime and definitely see some of it within the revamp here. I definitely recommend both apps together. I think the new vitamin tracking is like a mini version of Routine and probably is the exact amount someone needs. I am neurodivergent and HiGHLY think both are helping me so much with work and chores- really just memory overall, and a dopamine boost with Routine. Thank you for considering all suggestions and giving us some grace if we missed our alarm and notification to track 🙋🏻‍♀️ like I did this evening.

Feeling Good Daily

I have to say that since I’ve started C/O vitamins I have been consistent in taking my vitamins due to the convenience of the packs. I also have a friend who is doctor specializing in wellness through diet and exercise. He reviewed my recommendations from C/O and the details of those supplements in my pack. He was quite impressed with the fact they are not only natural but that they are also not full of fillers, dyes, and chemicals. I am a former gastric by pass patient and have trouble with absorption with traditional supplements. Because of the quality of C/O Vitamins I get the full benefit of the true supplement. I feel better, sleep better and have more energy! Take the quiz and try them today- You won’t be sorry!

Review of App

I just started taking the vitamins, so I don’t want to review those yet. However, I can say it is convenient to have them in a to go package, the pocket protector for immunity actually tastes good, and I haven’t experienced any bad aftertaste.

I take the vitamins in the packets in the day and I have one for sleep. In the app you have to ‘track’ all the vitamins at once. Because I can’t take the sleep one during the day and want to follow the recommendation of taking the rest with food plus I prefer to take my pills earlier, I either can’t track sleep or I have to wait to track all pills. I wish you could hit track on the specific vitamin you are taking as you take it in the app. This way I don’t forget to do it later and can track everything. This goes for the reflection option too, but I am not certain how to answer some of those questions yet. I am focusing on energy in the reflection section for now because of this.

Also, is there a way to take the quiz again in the app to determine if your recommendations should change or remain the same? If not, I think this should be added.

Healthy habits, made easy… and fun!

I’ve never taken multivitamins consistently in my life before Care/of. I found it difficult to maintain routine and it just felt like another chore in my day. I have to say everything from the personalized packets to the in app tracking has made this habit an easy one to create, and a fun one to manage. All the while, I am genuinely feeling positive affects on my mood, stress, and skin. I highly recommend using Care/of as your source for vitamin supplements, you won’t be disappointed.

Also, you can backtrack your vitamin tracking now, and you earn points (carrots) for consistently tracking which translates to tangible items you can trade them in for. That’s gamification done right!

Great job to the product and development team!

Love the vitamins- hate the tracking bugs

We really need the ability maybe set our waking hours, as in hours we’re awake. I don’t want to track it too early, I like tracking when I take my nighttime vitamin. (There’s dopamine from tracking when I take it) There should be some grace for those of us that sometimes try to track at midnight. I’ve never redeemed any of my carrots so it’s not about that. I swear sometimes when I do actually get my track in before midnight, sometimes the next day still won’t take as another dot. Like today! It’s almost 11pm and it’s not letting me add for today. After years, apparently my longest streak is only 17 days even though that’s not accurate with how I’ve taken my vitamin. I do get that some people need incentives but I just want a reasonable way to track. My vitamin helps me sleep and helps prevent migraines- just wish the app would be a bit better with the ending time of the day or at least show us the exact day we tracked instead of the number if dots changing. Maybe I’m just used to my fitness tracker app’s calendar being easier to navigate. Sure- the carrot system, changing to differentiate numbers to track may be a unique concept but maybe give us a calendar so we can actually see what days we took it, if we missed a day. So much added anxiety that could be avoided with days of the week or dates stamped to our tracking.

Care/Of Is Good In My Book

This app is full of CARE and truly does what it says it’ll help you do for you. The lay out of the site, the quiz, the discount codes, the feeling of leveling up getting carrots for rewards feels like a game. I love it. Only thing I could say is with all the good things this app provides maybe showing the faces behind these ideas would be good for the company in the future. Also, they can make it easier to navigate and gain access to using your carrots toward discounts of your next order. I feel using 9000 of my carrots just for 10$ off Eh a bit too much since the carrots you earn are so attached to your effort and results.

Skeptical at first. Oh, try the blueberry gut packs!

I avoided this offer forever. I had bought my own vitamins and weekly would divide them into a case. I did my best to research before I bought but that was it. When I finally tried it I was happy with the questions asked, the recommended options and the option to remove or add stuff. After two months I got a new recommendation and I swapped out something that I felt was redundant. I really feel a difference (e.g. less lethargic mid day, brighter/even skin etc.) and having the packs has made travel easy- even working from home- I just grab it and head to my office. The app reminders are helpful and I even earned enough points to get free stuff and take $10 off an order.

I ordered the gut packets and OMG! The taste is awesome, it’s almost silky in texture and it helps if you feel a little full, a little off or have heartburn. I was taking tums nightly and now with vitamins and gut packs I’m just not needing them. I went from using gut packs daily to maybe twice a week. My husband LOVES them too.

I have been very happy with Care/of.

Still needs work

I got powder with my vitamins in my first round and tried to like it but I just don’t like protein powder. In the app when you try to stop or cancel the powder, it looked like I was cancelling everything. I like the vitamins so I just paused my powder instead of cancelling it. Just yesterday, I guess my powder was unpaused and it just ordered me more?? I went to the app and online and was unable to cancel it even though it wasn’t shipped yet. So now I’ll have even more powder I won’t use. The UI is confusing, and not user friendly. I bounce around everywhere in the app trying to figure out how to see orders, pause, cancel, but have strange messages that make it seem like I’m cancelling everything. I texted support yesterday but still haven’t had a response and now the powder has been shipped. I don’t see why we can’t stop shipping or cancel an order if we didn’t need it. I don’t like the auto order, at least have me push an approve button or something. Makes me want to use a different vitamin provider altogether

Hi there - We hear your frustration. We always want our customers to feel that they are in control of their subscriptions and what they are ordering. We hope that a member of our team was able to help your sort out this issue. If not, please reach out to hello@takecareof.com, and a member of the Care Team will be happy to assist!

Vitamins are good, the app is just sales

I am new to Care/of. I just started my subscription so I have lots of questions. The app provides little to no answers. It seems more oriented towards getting you to buy more. For example, I want to better understand what was sent to me, say RDA info, or am missing anything from my old multi. Nothing like that info. If I go to “my plan” it will show the vitamins I am getting but the orientation is to get you to buy more. No information about the vitamins themselves. There is no reference to why they sent me electrolytes (yes I said I need them) but they only sent me a few packs. Am I supposed to spread them out? Take them once a week? Or on the second day (not the first or prior to starting) I saw a quick note saying I should not take calcium and iron in the same sitting. I can’t find that note to review it. Maybe that is important information to have more prominent??

These are expensive vitamins. For that premium I feel I should be getting both quality and information/customization I am not getting elsewhere. I can get good quality multi vitamins at the local co-op so they need to provide the latter to make it worthwhile They are not, at least not through this app. It is very disappointing. I will take the vitamins I have purchased but will likely cancel the subscription.

Hi there - We hear your frustration. We know that keeping up on vitamin intake can be difficult at times, and our app encourages our customers to stay on top of their intake! You can find out more info about your vitamins by opening our app, clicking Browse, and scrolling to any vitamin in your packs. If you reach out to hello@takecareof.com with any questions you have about the vitamins in your packs or when to take them, a member of our Care Team will be happy to help!

wish it was better

i really liked care/of and the vitamins they provided. i however faced some financial difficulty and had to push my subscription back. without realizing, i forgot to push it further once december came and they charged me. i immediately contacted that i needed my order cancelled and money returned. i received a quick message back that i would receive a refund within 5-10 days. after two weeks, i never received my refund and triple checked my bank statement to confirm. i reached out to care/of not once, but THREE times, with no response. once i finally stated that i was cancelling my subscription and going to write a review, i suddenly received an email stating that they were apologetic and raised my refund issue to customer care.

i’m just really disappointed, i actually liked this company.

Great- but could use improvement

I love the convenience of receiving my vitamins in individual packs. I also love the ability to order and track when I take my vitamins. I also like the ability to earn rewards. One change I would like to see in the app is the ability to back track and record that I took my vitamins the previous day. I have a set routine of taking them daily w/dinner, but sometimes I forget to track in the app until the next day. There is no way to go back and record that they were taken. Also, there is a lapse of when I run out of vitamins and when my next shipment arrives. I have gone up to two weeks without vitamins. DHL is the slowest delivery service fo use.

The app is the only negative

Ever since upgrading to an iPhone 12, the app will not work. I get a "Please try to execute this field query later", a brief flash of the logo, then endless 3 dots flashing. Not a biggie except it means that I'm shut out of the rewards program (earning carrots for taking your vitamins every day) - which is a tremendous incentive to try new products since you can redeem for $ off an order.

I've tried everything imaginable to correct this - uninstalling the app, deleting everything and starting over, nothing works. I cannot imagine this is unique to my iPhone but there's been no fix in the 4 months I've been experiencing this issue.

Good concept. Clunky app and unreliable in reality

I love the idea of Care/Of. I like that the quiz pointed me to some supplements that I hadn’t considered before that have actually helped with my concerns. However, there are some definite issues. First, this app is super clunky and difficult to navigate. Old subscriptions still show up even if you’ve cancelled them, you can’t back date vitamin tracking, it takes several clicks just to find what’s coming in my next order. One of my least favorite apps on my phone to use. Second, they’ve had a lot of supply issues since the pandemic that they haven’t sorted out. First my orders came in bottles for a couple months (Which was fine. I know they were still adjusting to new demand and supply chain constraints). Now I’ve had several months where certain supplements are just out of stock and not sent with my box - even though they’re not new additions to my box but something I’ve been getting for 6+ months at this point. This in particular defeats the purpose of care/of for me. It’s been over a year since the pandemic started and they’re still blaming things on supply chain and staffing issues. It’s not ok and I’m seriously considering stopping my subscription once I figure out alternatives.

Good service, glitchy app

The actual service Care/of provides is great, and their products are high quality. However, the app doesn’t always let you actually track when vitamins are taken. For example, I’ll get the reminder notification and go to log my vitamins, and it just...... won’t let me press the button to record that day’s vitamin intake. It’s pretty weird, and doesn’t happen every day, but it’s annoying that the app itself is the thing that’s ruining daily streaks when you’ve actually been taking your vitamin packs every day. (Cant complain about the product though, just the app.)

Great service, trash app

So many complaints I don't even know where to start. Current issue is the app literally will not load. At all. Just "thinks" forever and I never get to my dashboard. This was basically instant before the last iOS update. Developers get access to updates way in advance of even public betas. Why isn't this functional? You also lack the ability to track supplements taken after the fact (hi some of us have ADHD and are forgetful I don't care about points, I care about data tracking you snarky clods) and when I reached out to customer care to suggest this they basically told me it wouldn't even be considered for future updates.

Maybe y'all should focus on the service side and have someone else take over your development portion because this ain't it. :|

BEWARE!

*update: I finally got through to someone who could help me but the customer service was still trash. But the major problem is the website layout. I still can’t see where my order is being shipped or how much taxes are being charged. This is ridiculous.

This is a WARNING to all first time users. Care/of whole system is not customer friendly. They don’t tell you how much tax is being charged on your order until AFTER they charge your card. So if your total says $40 its really going to be $44.
You can’t see on your order where they ship your package not even if you click on “track my order”. That means that if u update your address its a good possibility it will be still sent to the old address. That’s what happened to me. Now I have to go walk 2 miles just to get my package being held at the post office. If they had updated their website so I could have seen where my package was going this could have been prevented. I could have contacted support in time to change it. But instead I had no idea where my package was being sent.

Ok but the carrots don’t add up

I spend $47 a month for my vitamins. Each week I collect 1,400 carrot points a week. Doing the math to save up for the bike they have at 5,000,000.; It would take 70 years to get the bike. If I saved $47 and put it aside, it would take 3 1/2 years to save up to get it. If I continued doing the carrot points, I would be 100 years old when I GET the bike! Can you see a 100 year old women on a bike??? Uh... no! Let’s just say I live long enough to get the bike but I wouldn’t even be able to enjoy it. It would take 24 years to get the Apple Watch at 1,000,000 when you can just add that to your cellular plan and make payments and have it paid off in a year. Lol it doesn’t make sense! It’s just an incentive to get you to spend more money on their products. Just this alone makes me not want to purchase from them because it’s very deceiving!

The Gold Standard of Vitamins

To begin with, the questionnaire really makes it simple for most people to address their concerns and focus areas. I started with the quiz on the website, (app is good too). I’ve been taking care/of vitamins for 6 months and I feel amazing. My skin is glowing, my mind feels clearer and lighter, I have more energy, and I also sleep better at night. I don’t have issues if I take them on an empty stomach, either.

The packaging is compostable, so it’s eco-friendly. The vitamins do what they should if you are consistent. The app also has an option where it will remind you to take your vitamins! I take mine everyday regardless, but if you track them you can get good rewards “carrots”(not sure how to redeem them, though)...

Anyway, super happy with the whole experience. Highly recommend. I share the knowledge with my family and friends.

Love my Care Of

I have been using Care Of for almost a month now. I can definitely see improvement in the categories I had concerns about. It is so easy to get started by taking a short quiz to find a plan that best suits you and any health concerns you have. I love how they are broken down in daily doses in (biodegradable) packages that are extremely convenient when on the go. I love the ease of 2 scoops of my vanilla oat creamer collagen in my first cup of coffee. The Care Of app is as easy as placing your order is! It helps me keep on track while allowing me to earn carrots (Care Of credit) to use for credit towards my next order or other Care Of products. You are also given a 50% off first order link to share with your friends and family! I highly recommend Care Of and their amazing products! Taking health one individualized to you day at a time!!
