I did lose weight, but it was expensive
I purchased the 6-month subscription to the app along with the personalized book. I lost close to 10 pounds during the first 28 days, and about 5 more pounds over the next two months, but nothing else after that, so I would have been better off with the 3-month subscription.
It was nice having my menu planned out for me every day and being able to generate a shopping list for whichever days I wanted to shop for. However, the meals were very hit-or-miss. As someone with a lot of experience cooking, I’m pretty sure most of the recipes are written by nutritionists/dietitians, not by chefs, and the people who wrote the recipes don’t have much actual cooking knowledge. Many of the recipes are lacking in basic cooking techniques and principles. The estimated cooking times are inaccurate, and sometimes WAY off from the actual cooking time, especially if any grains are involved (it’s impossible to cook brown rice in 20 minutes). The recipes also use a lot of obscure ingredients that were really difficult for me to get because I live in Hawaii. I spent hundreds of dollars buying the ingredients for my meal plan, and threw away the majority of those ingredients because the recipes only use 1 or 2 ounces of an ingredient and then the rest goes bad before a recipe using that ingredient comes up in the plan again. I have containers of millet, amaranth, buckwheat, and bulgur that I’m probably never going to finish because they don’t taste good.
The workouts were an issue for me. The app doesn’t follow the personalized book which alternates strength training with cardio and includes a rest day, instead saying that you are supposed to workout for 20 minutes every day, but you can’t log your own workouts. You have to use their workouts, which don’t count for as much time as they take. The workouts I was doing take about 10 minutes, but only count for 4-5 minutes.
As a person with chronic pain and fatigue, this app was nearly impossible for me to keep up with. If you don’t have any health issues, you have lots of extra time and money to spend on cooking random recipes, and you don’t mind eating bland, boring food, then this app might work for you. Personally, I’m glad my subscription ends tomorrow and I won’t feel obligated to use the app because I spent money on it.

Love it!
Losing weight the right way and feeling good!
Lack of communication about subscription renewal
I used this app for approx 2 weeks and haven’t used it since. I have now woken up to a charge of $350+ for a subscription I didn’t even know I had. There was ZERO communication about this renewal coming out, and it wasn’t even just for the app. It was including some workout plan and a meditation app I never even remember seeing or subscribing to??? It was also felt like a very basic app which did not help me towards my goal.
