CarOtter
OBD2 scanner, AI & smog check
About
This app transforms a Bluetooth OBD-II adapter into a car health companion. It reads check-engine codes, monitors engine vitals, and helps you pass smog checks. It also offers AI-powered chat for car-related questions and logs fuel and service history.
What's New in CarOtter
1.3
October 19, 2026
A cleaner Home, Diagnostics, Smog and Service. Each screen now opens on one status line and one next step, with the facts you check most at the top. Nothing recorded while your phone is locked gets lost any more. Drives, trouble codes and smog checks captured on a locked phone are kept and merged in when you unlock. Custom gauges can no longer be wiped by a locked launch. Deleting your chat history now clears it everywhere, including the open Chat tab. Multi-car garages: each car's drives, insights and custom gauges stay with that car, and removing a car removes everything that belonged to it. Adapter connection: a slow reply no longer lands on the wrong gauge, "Adapter not responding" stays on screen instead of vanishing, and tapping Disconnect stops scanning for good. The widget updates without slowing the app down. Reminders, the dashboard, the widget and CarPlay now agree on service intervals, air filters included. Service documents sent to a cloud model now also mask customer names printed under BILL TO. Storage totals in Your Data are accurate, and export includes drive history, timeline events and custom gauges.
