Exactly What I Was Looking For

I don’t understand why it’s so hard finding an app that can forecast balances based on recurring expenses. It’s such an easy concept but I’ve searched for 6+ months to find one I liked. I finally stumbled upon this one, and it checks every box. It’s easy to use, doesn’t have a subscription, and the summary screen is very useful for a quick snapshot of your account/forecasted highs and lows.

December 2024 update has killed the app on iPhone

Since recent update has gone through you can no longer select any date other than existing date for any record, this has rendered a previously excellent app useless. It has been tested on the 2 latest iPhone models and issue is present on both

Glitches

Difficult to edit recurring transactions. I find I have to completely close the app and then re-open any changes to take affect. Operation is not as smooth and user friendly as expected.

HELP!

Ive been using this app for sometime now and it’s been a lifesaver helping me keep control of my finances. However today I cannot access the app that has all my data, “the developer of this app needs to update it to work with latest version of iOS”. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated.

Puzzled

So the app is great to track my cashflow. Only issue I can’t figure out is I have a couple recurring transactions since May 2020. I am moving and gave those transactions an end date of June 14, 2021, but it wiped out all the prior transactions, so it screwed up my balance to date. I then had to manually add a debit transaction to get the balance to what it should be and manually delete future occurrences... what’s up with that??

Hi - How often do you update the starting balance of your account? We recommend periodically updating the start balance (and start date) to match the latest balance in your account. By default, automatic transactions that fall more than 7 days before the starting date are automatically hidden (unless overridden). Just adding an end date to an existing recurring item shouldn’t cause an issue. However, we have a “data anonymizer” that would let you send a scrambled version of your data to us for analysis: http://cashflowsapp.com/Cashflows/anonymize-cashflows.html Also, would you like to try our new app - “Cashflows Pro”? Extremely useful

I have used this app for years and have found it invaluable. However, today I tried to add a recurring payment and wasn’t able to access that facility. Is this no longer available?

I tried it again today and it’s now working perfectly.

Tried again on 8th October and it’s not working again.

Excellent and easy to use

Excellent app! I use it to forecast balance in my account so always have enough for bills. Works perfectly and matches exactly a spreadsheet version I used to use.

Minor improvements would be the dark mode colour formatting. Also the app sometimes won’t refresh calcs until I swipe close close and reopen.

Close to perfect

I can’t say enough about this app. I’ve been using it for several years now and the simplicity of design and ease-of-use just blows me away. There is no other app that I have seen that can do what it does in a simple way. If you do get the app you will not regret it. To me it’s the best of the best.

Can’t stand the update

One of the worst updates that I have seen. The developer made the app into a dark mode and the colors are awful. Can’t see the numbers or letters with dark purple on black.
The developer did not give the option for a white mode which is why I am only giving this one star. Prior to the update I loved the app!

My Go To Cashflow App

I have no idea why this has so few ratings/isn’t more popular. I’ve had this app since 2016 and haven’t found another that works in the same way - it’s simple, effective, and does what it says on the tin! I rely on it everyday.

I’m delighted to have noticed the latest update - last time I checked it hadn’t been updated in 2 years or so and I’d feared the devs had maybe abandoned the project. So I came here to write this review and also to say thank you to the devs for the latest update 😄.

Love the App but don’t love Dark Mode

I love this app, it’s great but as much as I normally love dark mode I don’t like it here. It’s confusing. Please let me toggle it off.

I have total faith that they’ll get it figured out because they always do. I love this app!

Awesome App

Fantastic app to give you visibility to future cash flow of accounts. I love the fact that it handles multiple accounts in multiple currencies. It is easy to rebalance your accounts to get future visibility to projected max and min balances. Just discovered the min balance warning feature which is even better. Thank you for this great app!

Disappointed...

Everything was perfect until I found this problem: When two transactions occurs at the same date, credit should always come first. Now it’s not like this and it’s very confusing.

Clear and easy

I’ve used this app for a couple of years now. It’s wonderful. I just love the way your starting balance can be punched in without the tedium of calculating an exact balance, getting bank downloads, and matching up past transactions to get the perfect balances other apps/methods require.
The graphical chart of the future tells you more in an instant than a pile of spreadsheets could ever do.

I’ve fond that updating balances merely adds to the existing balance and does not start things afresh.

Looks like no support is available other than a webpage instruction sheet .

Would be nice if the recurring page also listed totals of recurring incomes and expenditures, per month/ year, so one can get an immediate approximation of cashflow.

Hi - Thanks for the feedback! Could you clarify what you mean about the starting balance? Updating the starting balance & starting date (typically to today’s date) is recommended periodically to synchronize the balance calculation with your actual bank statement. From there the app just forecasts what your balance(s) will be in the future.
