Devs I really would like some help. (can’t even start the game do to a problem)

I just bought this game after doing research on which one I wanted to spend money on and I’m excited to play this version of it.. but it seems like I keep running into a problem relate to something referred to as “LAUL”
???
Not sure what that means but if you guys could get back to me, that would be amazing. I’m gonna try to figure this out in the meantime…
Have no problem supporting you guys and I appreciate what you do, but please just try to help me start and fix this :)

(OK update after a lot of messing around. I’m able to play the game but no matter what I do I cannot enable sound. Anyway, to fix this.)

Thank you for your review. If you could please write some details and screenshots to https://apollov.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portal/1/, it would be more convenient to communicate there. Also there's no sounds built in, you have to download sound pack separately and place it into appropriate folder. Search reddit for it, because in the past there was “@'s sound pack”, but looks like I cannot find it now.

Loving it with the constant updates for the newer versions.

Despite the steep learning curve, it is amazing. I love the depth of the game and how intricate it is. I just sincerely hope that full sound system gets updated for more immersive experience as if playing on PC. Then, it will be perfect.

One big problem

So, I want to change the length and with of my display so I can see more stuff. Everytime I swipe up my keyboard, it reverts back to its original display size of 84 and 24. Can you fix this real quick? Its kinda killing my vibe of playing bright nights.

Updated review

The ipad this was on has died unexpectedly, so it’s likely the problem was on my end. Changing this to a 5 star review as the game is one of my favourites, and this is a good port (so long as your device is not in the process of dying). Sorry for the trouble.

Thank you for your review. Can you please file a bug report here: https://apollov.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portal/1/l and attach a small video record depicting the issue you experiencing? I just have no idea about how is this possible based on the code I've written myself. And I cannot reproduce this. Also please note you device model and iOS version. I'll try to help. Sorry for the inconvenience, this sounds really strange. Previous: I have just checked that out and everything's okay. Have you tried pushing the “Play” button on that screen? Or maybe I don't get what is happening on your side. Can you describe the issue a bit more?

当ipadpro 2021和iPhone13使用蓝牙键盘游玩时按某些键会出现双击bug，主要是出现在使用esc和enter键的时候，按一次键盘就会出现按两次的效果，希望可以修复或者有什么解决办法 ////：更新测试：在使用其他程序或者游戏的时候不会出现这个bug，修改键盘设置也没有效果，打开辅助-切换控制的时候bug就消失了，但是开切换控制游戏不能正常操作，使用其他键盘也有这个问题，是不是虚拟键盘上没有的按紧就会出现的bug，我在bug反馈的网站有详细说明，不知道为什么不能上传bug的视频，并且这个bug只在iPhone和ipadpro上面有，我测试了air3上面用同样键盘就没有这个bug

Solid port, game does crash when going about 25 tiles or further on the overmap, but with frequent quick or auto saves this is negated. Terminal width/height is having the same problem the other CDDA app had in which the size isn’t saved after changing. Still great and the main reason behind my 14 hours of screen time, get it

Thank you for your review. We're updating the game frequently to let those bugs go away, hopefully those ones you're talking about are already fixed. The resolution issue is fixed in 0.F, but the port of that feature is not ready for BN and 0.E at the moment.

Crappy DOS RPG

Can’t give it less than one star. The interface is horrific; about as bad as it can get. Even for free this is a ripoff.

Thank you for your review. Well, if you haven't played Cataclysm earlier, then the game will be very hard to play, doesn't matter whether you do it on PC or on the phone, and on the phone it will be especially hard. But if you would spend some time inside the game, get to know some of its mechanics and its awesome depth, its possible you'll enjoy it. Initially i thought the same way as you do now, but after a while i was spending all my time inside. Yes, the controls are not perfect, but it is still very playable on mobile. I played it tons of hours on iPhone myself polishing the overlay UI to be comfortable to play without keyboard, because the game was designed to be played from a keyboard. I'd advice to start playing on a PC, and if you would enjoy it, come back to mobile version 😃

Great mobile port

I spent a while looking for a good cdda mobile port after the original didn’t work on my phone and boy do I have to say this is amazing, it may not be super new user friendly but if you take the time to learn and set your keybinds it really is just like the pc version. Great game, great port, great product

Thank you for your review. Yep, Cataclysm has steep learning curve even on a large screen with physical keyboard, but once you know how to play, mobile version will be not harder (in terms of controls, not the game difficulty) than the desktop. They share the same code base and even have compatible saves, graphics and sound packs and plugins!

I just wrote a review for this game not 30 seconds ago explaining not to buy and how Apple will bar you from getting your money back. I also explained how my reviews on this matter or any other similar matters have been removed or never made it through processing. Don’t buy this and be wary.

レビューありがとうございます。最初はゲームにサウンドがありませんが、たとえばhttps://github.com/damalsk/damalsksoundpack/archive/master.zipからサウンドパックを自分でインストールできます。ダウンロードして解凍し、解凍したディレクトリをゲームの「sound/」ディレクトリに配置するだけです。

Some problems I encountered

I use iPhone12. When I set the resolution, it will be reset. When I play, it will flash back. Building a shelter will show that I can't find a shelter. I like this game very much. I also support you very much.

All great and all but,

There are the Red letters such as inventory, craft, combat, and the other red letters that are constantly stuck on the game 24/7. Can you make a way to either rearrange them, disable them, or just choose the ones you want to keep on your HUD. This is the only problem i have with the game, and as far as i know, it isnt added in yet. Thank you very much for your cooperation

Thank you for your review. You can completely disable the overlay UI by going to standard "Settings app", finding "Cataclysm Bright nights" there and switching appropriate option off.

Keyboard Function somewhat unusable

I’d realized I had a Bluetooth keyboard that could connect to my iPad, so I decided to try playing cataclysm with it. Turns out Backspace, Tab, and arrow keys are unusable(arrow keys being the result of their “select” function) which really hinders the ability to navigate through menus. Apart from that, the keyboard works fine and the port is wonderful(if playing without any accessories).

Thank you for your review. I gave this issue a look, but can't confirm such behavior. Just tested with my Apple Magic Keyboard and all the buttons work as expected. Maybe there's something different with your keyboard I can't test with mine?
