Needs Apple Wallet support
The app is as basic as it comes (which is actually probably better in this case). It has many repetitive info dumps that could be consolidated for efficiency. It absolutely needs Apple Wallet support to be taken seriously. Fishing (no pun) for the app in a sea of hundreds on an iPhone is no fun when the warden is waiting. Add Apple Wallet (as other states have) support ASAP.

Impossible for out of state
I'm out of state trying to get a single day fishing license, and the instructions send you to a link that blocks you from getting it without a GO ID, but doesn't allow you to sign up for a GO ID until you've verified your identity through GO ID. Worst system ever.

App works as should and displays what you need. You can purchase everything from the app. There’s some upgrades to wish for but this is a step in the right direction to have this mobile feature.

Can't even link info to register, it can't associate any ID info I give it. Tried DL, passport and nothing but errors.

Won’t let me make an account I’ve tried doing the associate bs cause it won’t let me do anything else. I’ve used my military and my state id and just keeps giving errors. Whats the point of having an app and then not even bothering to make sure it works. Waste of time
The step in right direction
The app feel a bit raw, but I think it’s a step in the right direction. There’s is no sense in carrying physical copy of the license when you have your phone with you. Here are few wishes/comments:
Apparently you cannot use the same account you already created online with this app, you have to try-register then link them (inconvenient); I wish I can use app for lobster reporting as well (why on earth I need to carry that stupid card with me?). I wish I can specify the location and harvest method (freediving) and have a tailored regulations with fish search and id guid. And add an interactive MPA map.

Bad app
Errors out and a delete and reload does not fix. Can’t report no harvest
Finally my license is accessible on my phone.
Love that we finally have a digital license versus carrying around the ridiculously long receipt like license. Couple more requests and this would be perfect. 1. Let me buy licenses and renew licenses through the app. 2. Since weather and solar information is already provided, adding a widget for high/ low tides would be phenomenal.

Can’t create account from app
You can’t create a new account directly from the app, even though it says you can. You have to go to the website first, register, get your license, and then log into the app.

No other app that I have on MY PHONE do I have to continuously log-in on. Why can this app not retain my credentials???

Double Charged
Don’t bother with this app. I purchased my fishing license through this app and they double charged me for the license and then when I asked about it they just kept referring me back and forth between the company that runs the transactions and CDFW. Just go into a tackle shop or sporting store and get your license, save yourself the time and frustration.

Why can’t it remember who I am?
I don’t use the app daily. But, I have a lot of apps I don’t use daily. Almost all of the others remember me, and don’t require me to sign in EVERY TIME!!! Maybe this could be addressed…?

The crucial bug is it only let you register yourself if you have driver license.

Unclear regulations
Extremely frustrating how California fish and game has not found a way to clearly show fishing guidelines based on the water you are fishing in. As someone new to fishing this is extremely frustrating
What can you expect from a government driven program
This app is garbage. I can’t even login with my account. I’m able to login on the website just fine, but trying to use the same login in the app and it fails.
