About
The federal CDL knowledge test requires 80 percent to pass, across eight subtests: General Knowledge, Air Brakes and Combination Vehicles, which every Class A applicant sits, plus five endorsements you choose based on what you plan to haul: Doubles/Triples, Tank Vehicles, Hazardous Materials, Passenger and School Bus. This app drills every subtest, one question at a time, and explains the method after every answer.
WHAT IS INSIDE
- Over 1,400 practice questions across all eight CDL subtests
- An explanation with every question, worked through step by step
- Core mock exam: 30 questions blending General Knowledge, Air Brakes and Combination Vehicles, with the same 80 percent pass mark as the real test
- A standalone practice exam for each endorsement you select
THE SUBTESTS
General Knowledge covers vehicle inspection, basic control, backing, space and speed management, hazard perception, cargo, hours of service and trip planning. Air Brakes covers system nomenclature, contaminated air, the low pressure warning, pre-trip inspection, parking brake use and grade braking. Combination Vehicles covers coupling, off-tracking, skid control and ABS. Doubles/Triples, Tank Vehicles, Hazardous Materials, Passenger and School Bus each cover the topics for that endorsement.
HOW YOU STUDY
- Pick your endorsements during setup, or change them later in Settings
- Set a daily goal and the home screen tracks it, with a streak for the days you keep
- Spaced review brings each question back just before you would forget it
- Weak spots gathers the ones you keep getting wrong
- Accuracy by topic group, weakest first, so you always know where the time should go
- Bookmark anything you want to come back to
- Enter your test date and the review schedule tightens as it approaches
- Every attempt at every exam is kept, so you can open a past run and read through what you missed
ABOUT SCORING
80 percent to pass is the actual federal minimum for the CDL knowledge test, not a house rule. This app covers federal, general content for Class A only: it does not cover state-specific additions to the test.
