CDL Permit Prep vs CDL Practice Test Pro

Study commercial learner's permit and CDL knowledge topics with CDL Permit Prep. The app's question bank contains 1,310 multiple-choice practice questions: 943 with national scope and 367 focused on state-specific topics. These are counts in the app, not the length or question count of any state's exam. Topics include General Knowledge, Air Brakes, Combination Vehicles, Hazmat, Tanker, Doubles/Triples, Passenger, School Bus, Hours of Service, and Pre-Trip Inspection. REVIEW QUESTIONS AND SOURCES Read an explanation after each answer and open its source reference. Study the federal topics and state-specific material included in the app, then check your state's current CDL manual and licensing-agency guidance for requirements that apply to you. PRACTICE YOUR PRE-TRIP CHECKS Use the trainer to identify vehicle components, describe the checks you would make, and explain safety concerns. Follow your state's current CDL manual and test instructions. The trainer does not require a script; examples are optional prompts, so use your own words. Trainer feedback is for practice and is not an official test score. STUDY BY CDL CLASS AND ENDORSEMENT Choose the class and topics you want to study. Review missed questions and practice the included CDL subjects at your own pace. Some CDL question translations are still under review and may appear in English with a notice. This app is study material, not an ELDT course and not a substitute for training required by FMCSA rules. Practice is not the exam. Check your state's current commercial driver handbook and official licensing-agency information. For support, visit https://cdlpermitprep.org/support. CDL Permit Prep is an independent study product and is not an official licensing-agency service.

The federal CDL knowledge test requires 80 percent to pass, across eight subtests: General Knowledge, Air Brakes and Combination Vehicles, which every Class A applicant sits, plus five endorsements you choose based on what you plan to haul: Doubles/Triples, Tank Vehicles, Hazardous Materials, Passenger and School Bus. This app drills every subtest, one question at a time, and explains the method after every answer. WHAT IS INSIDE - Over 1,400 practice questions across all eight CDL subtests - An explanation with every question, worked through step by step - Core mock exam: 30 questions blending General Knowledge, Air Brakes and Combination Vehicles, with the same 80 percent pass mark as the real test - A standalone practice exam for each endorsement you select THE SUBTESTS General Knowledge covers vehicle inspection, basic control, backing, space and speed management, hazard perception, cargo, hours of service and trip planning. Air Brakes covers system nomenclature, contaminated air, the low pressure warning, pre-trip inspection, parking brake use and grade braking. Combination Vehicles covers coupling, off-tracking, skid control and ABS. Doubles/Triples, Tank Vehicles, Hazardous Materials, Passenger and School Bus each cover the topics for that endorsement. HOW YOU STUDY - Pick your endorsements during setup, or change them later in Settings - Set a daily goal and the home screen tracks it, with a streak for the days you keep - Spaced review brings each question back just before you would forget it - Weak spots gathers the ones you keep getting wrong - Accuracy by topic group, weakest first, so you always know where the time should go - Bookmark anything you want to come back to - Enter your test date and the review schedule tightens as it approaches - Every attempt at every exam is kept, so you can open a past run and read through what you missed ABOUT SCORING 80 percent to pass is the actual federal minimum for the CDL knowledge test, not a house rule. This app covers federal, general content for Class A only: it does not cover state-specific additions to the test. No in-app purchases, no subscription. NOT AFFILIATED This app does not represent a government entity. It is an independent study tool, not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the FMCSA, any state DMV, or any official CDL testing program.
