This app has been updated by Apple to display the Apple Watch app icon. Added setting for birth and die speed of cells. You can specify how fast cells appear and vanish. Minor bugfixes.

Crash

It is a good app, but if you press random, then stop, then random it crashes. It would also be great if you could zoom in and out with a pinch so it would be easier to build large things.

Interesting but poor core mechanics

While this app provides a fresh take of Conway’s game of life, the speed is poorly implemented. There is no ability to change the speed and the default is very slow. This is critical in high end implementations because certain initial conditions can result in 1000’s of iterations before stabilizing which would take hours to see in this app.
