Fascinating project!
Definitely a unique app that I knew I wanted to go find and support as soon I read about it. On a first look at just the parts of the park I know best, it’s a mostly good experience - I do see some incorrect IDs (several mature juneberry trees shown as mulberry) and some very offputting content (super weird vibe in the Untermeyer Fountain description). If they would modernize the editorial approach and update at least the major features and statues that have changed since 2015, the app would be more accessible. But even as a time capsule, it’s still an interesting project.

Great for Birding
This app is great for finding your way around Central Park even if you never use the info about trees. I use this app whenever I do birding in Central Park.

I’ve been a Volunteer in Central Psrk for 10 years. I’m in the park at least 6 hours every week. I know quite a bit about the park. Yet I find this app to be very useful. I use it often.

Fantastic app. Really wonderful.
I was a bit worried it would be out of date (software wise) but this app works flawlessly in 2021 both on iPhone and my iPad. And from what I’ve seen, it’s pretty up-to-date on trees too, based on my limited use. I do wish it had progressed more, with a visual glossary, better zoom (north woods are a bit too dense to easily find trees), etc, but already there’s an enormous amount of work gone into it for such a little price. Every park in the world should have such an app.

You can locate yourself instantly anywhere. If you want to know the species of the tree you are standing under, this app will tell you for virtually every tree in the park. It is a must have for everyone entering Central Park to maximize their experience of that beautiful space.

This app is indeed a work of genius and a thrill to use! An outstanding resource, enabling you to locate all the marvelous monuments and even individual trees in Central Park. For years I have used and treasured the expansive paper version, and now am delighted to have at hand this electronic guide. It is by far the best, most comprehensive and enlightening guide, with the most beautiful and charming illustrations!

Super Great App
As a first time visitor to Central Park this APP was really great. I could plan a route to what I wanted to see, see exactly where I was on the map (huge advantage) or locate a facility or item of interest. This park is beautiful and this APP made it so easy to navigate.
Great work. An obvious labor of love
I had been schlepping around the bed sheet version of this map for many months. How wonderfully welcome it is to have it on my iPhone. Only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is that it needs a filter. For instance, if I want to find the single example of Lea’s Oak, I should be able to easily do so by touching the key entry. I hope you are working on that. Otherwise, bravo!

Excellent!
This is app is fantastic. It shows you all the small paths to walk around the park. I love that it tells you about the different trees and flowers as well! Excellent for those who want to colored the park, off the tourist path.

Some people may think that Central Park is like a sculpture, carved out of wild land, but it was totally designed, largely out of swampland, by Frederick Law Olmstead. Every rock, every path, every sculpture, every bridge, every lawn, every body of water, every tree and it's placement - all designed.
This map is completely true to the park as it stands today. The artwork is gorgeous and the app works perfectly. All aspects of this app are just as well designed as the park!
I love all the inside information about areas and sculptures but my favorite part about it is the "find me" button. You will never be lost!

This is the first time i ever understood how wonderful an app could be.

Full disclosure, I know Ken Chaya, was present when the app was a map, and shared with Ken my concerns about tree ID its initial version — difficult moving between the tree ikons and the ikon index. This problem has been resolved brilliantly. Clickable ikon ID together with the “find me” feature makes identifying a particular tree really doable. As for the review stating clicking on features produced a tree, I found that little micro adjustments in finger placement produced the desired outcome. In sum this is a remarkable app which will open the majesty of a great park to anyone who cares to look.

Brilliant design and execution
Tap any tree to learn its name. Tap any site to learn more about it. Turn on (or off) display icons to show points of interest, great trees, monuments, restrooms, eateries, playgrounds, visitor centers, etc. Tap "find me" and there you are! No need to ask directions! The hardest working app out there of Central Park. Gotta have this one! Beautiful artwork too.

So easy to identify trees
Love it! Stand under a tree in Central Park and bam! I have the species name. Version 2 is awesome
Omg... Turn the trees off
The trees are now clickable.... And everything else you want to click on - like say a point of interest - will now give u instead the name of the tree species your finger is on on the tiny map.
Great app: beautiful and practical
Every tree in Central Park is identified in this easy to use app. Also can locate where you are and nearest restaurant. Push notifications let you know of seasonal highlights like when the cherry trees are in peak bloom.
Detailed map with magnificent artwork
Great app it is wonderful to be able to click on every tree for identification, and the beautiful artwork is a bonus. So glad I accepted push notifications and didn't miss the Yoshino Cherries in bloom.
Most functional guide for Central Park.
Now I can tell people what tree is the Yellow Warbler perching on. Wonderful updating effort.

Got this app for my trip to New York and all I can say is buy this app!!! Incredible detail and easy to use, it is a must for anyone visiting Central Park. Whether your interested in the nature, the land marks or just navigating your way round this is the app for you. Had a lovely day with this map as a guide taking me to all the main areas easily and efficiently and even allowed me to use all the less known paths and routes I'm sure most of the locals don't know about. Much better (and cheaper!) than a tour guide!
