Excellent for PPL AND IR
So far I’ve completed my PPL and am working on my IR using CTA. This school works regardless of whether you are flying Cessnas or not and in my case I’m flying Pipers!
Keep in mind that there will be Cessna specific items at various points so it that doesn’t apply to you, just make note of it and move on.
The audio feature and videos are fantastic however some of the pages are bugged there there is no audio option.
My only gripe (and maybe it’s just me) is that this is a little over the top for what I needed to know for PPL. While having this information is excellent, I found that I had to relearn a lot of the information when prepping for the oral as it got lost in the acres and acres of information CTA provides you.
My best recommendation if you choose to you CTA, which I think you should, is to use organized electronic notes and take this ground school extremely seriously, even if it takes you several months to complete, which it most likely will.
Overall CTA is exceptionally helpful! Don’t get overwhelmed PPL students! You’ll do just fine!

From a Private Pilot’s views
This app is incredibly helpful when I am on the go with family or in school. I am easily able to complete lessons, watch videos and keep up with my instructor and in some cases ahead of my instructor. This app I can say for certain has shortened the learning curve in my journey to becoming a pilot before college. My only critique is that the only aircraft that are displayed in the app are Cessna, although not a surprise due to the app being centered towards Cessna’s it would be a help if the app could demonstrate other scenarios - I fly a pipestrel alpha trainer to make my journey affordable with my current position in income.

Get into the 21st Century
I would not use this app if it was not required by my school, hated it for ppl and it’s even worse for IFR. Videos from the 90’s low quality and resolution, no interactive tools, outdated avionics, and only cover g1000 that I don’t have access to. No ability to zoom and no scaling for high dpi screens, no android app for phone. Exorbitant price relative to better alternatives like sporty’s. Honestly, I’ll fly through this to “complete” it for the school but turn to something like sporty’s for my real studying.

There is a bug in the app. Some pages show up blank & populate only after going to the main page & back again
Update it to be more user friendly.
It’s 2025…we shouldn’t be having an all that feels like windows 99. If you pay for the course, you should be able to keep it afterwards for review. Kinda bummed out after spending all the money and mot being able to go back and review after the class has finished. Gatekeeping for what? To resort to AI teaching me instead? Fix your business model and put consumer first before AI takes your job. 😤
