Scam - they keep your deposit

Reservation ended October 7th and it’s now October 27th. I’ve called multiple times and was first told to wait 7-10 business days, then was told they can’t check it over the weekend, then they stopped answering my calls and ignored my VM. It’s been almost a month and my deposit is still in their account. Will take legal actions if need be

Great app!

I used this app for my Tesla rental, and it worked really well for me. It's pretty much like the Tesla app but a bit easier to use.

I can’t open the car and unsure why

I’m stuck in the street after not being able to open my Tesla car rental. I have no idea what’s going on and the rental company doesn’t open until Monday. The worst experience since the rental company stopped using the official Tesla app and switched to this company

really makes it super convenient. have rented from tesla owners that only provide the keycard, which in my opinion is a serious disservice to the full tesla experience.

Charger Rate Gouging

I was required to install and use charge key for a rental car with a company ive used many times before. They switched to using this app and in addition to not trusting it based on the initial web experience my suspicions were confirmed while I decided to look around during the wait for my vehicle to charge while traveling one night. While the car informed me of the charging rates the transactions from the bank were much higher. I found in the chargekey app receipts area each pdf showed the charging rates being 25% higher than it actualy was. I get that the app must have a way to make money, but this added up and completely broke trust with me as it is not clear to the user. Especially in the case of being forced to use the app as I was.

If you are going to add double digit percentages or more to every transaction at least be up front with your users so they dont have to find it like I did.

As a result I will never use this app again and if the rental company i worked with has no other option I will never rent from them again.

The keys are set up to allow access to the vehicles and allow optional charging at Chargers. We are software providers, and not operators. Given this, the rates are set by the rental companies and we require them to be up front about their rates. We encourage you to reach out to your host / rental company if you have any concerns or questions. I'll add that we're going to also add more information in the app about rates to make things clearer, as we certainly don't like to hear that you were surprised.

I use Charge Key as a long-term key for my Tesla Model 3. It works seamlessly in the background for instant locking, unlocking, and driving. Plus I use it to locate my car and nearby charging stations.

Don’t rent a Tesla through Turo

I’ll admit that having a key in my phone is nice. But having rented my Tesla through Turo, I was not expecting to be charged more through another app. I expected to have to pay to charge the car, but I DID NOT expect it to cost pretty much the same as gas. And they took another $25 just for me to get into the app just to unlock my Turo, having to spend an extra 10-15 minutes in the Arizona sun just to unlock my car. Never going to rent an electric vehicle again. And definitely not one that utilizes this app. No customer support through the app or any contact information at all for that matter. 1/10. And only because having the car unlock and lock as I came and left was convenient.

The only reason deposits are not returned is if there are unpaid balances.
