iPhone Battery Killer
The current version of this app is absolutely killing my phone battery. I haven’t used it in 4 days and forced closed all apps daily and it used 35% of my battery in the background. 0% was used on screen. I have noticed that since installing this app a month ago that my phone hasn’t made it to the end of the day without entering power save mode. Usually I would be at 50% battery after a 16 hour day. Not any more. While typing this I’m at 3% and I have screenshots if the developers would like to take a look in to this. Other than phone drain I love the app and the device and what it can do for me.

The worst
I have gone through a bunch of these and this was the worst. Terrible product that just doesn’t work
Uses a lot of battery
This app has started using a lot of battery when not in use - wasn’t an issue on prior versions. Also doesn’t offer firmware updates for s1 base or probes so a lot of issues with them simply never get fixed.
pretty good app for bbq
Overall it works grate with my ProTemp probes. Setup was easy but the bluetooth took a sec to find the base. I love that I can see the temp graph on my iphone while im inside the house watching the game. App crashed once when I tried to change the meat type mid cook but usually its fine. Wish the alarm sound was a bit louder tho.

Great present
Bought this for my husband since hes the 'grill master' of the house. He loves the big screen because he can actually see it without his glasses outside. It feels really sturdy too, not like a toy. It arrived pretty fast even though the box had a little dent in the corner but the tool itself was perfect. If your on the fence just get it.

Just awesome
The ChefsTemp system is just plain awesome! I had the MEATER and a Smobot for my Big Green Egg. This consolidates it into one ecosystem, one app. It’s just awesome!
Btw their support is GREAT! I accidentally ordered the standard base. They sent me a Green Egg base for free and were super responsive and friendly.

Bluetooth no longer working. Can't sync with phone.
Prety good for smoking
Using this with my ProTemp and it works great. Much better than my last one. Love that I can name the probes so I dont mix up the pork and the beef. Only cọmplaint is I wish there was a watch app or a widget so I dont have to keep unlocking my phone with dirty hands.
Makes Cooking Stress-Free
very intuitive interface. I love I can track multiple probes at once and set custom alarms for each. the 'Previous Cooks' feature is great for repeating perfect results, and the estimated cook time is surprisingly accurate. It has cọmpletely taken the guesswork out of my sunday roasts!
Bad tutorials
You need a definitive video showing exactly how to hook up this fan to a big green egg. What have you got up? There is horrible. I might return this thing.
Loosing connection
I’m 20’ away from my BBQ and the app will not stay connected! Driving me nuts. Nothing between me and BBQ and it won’t stay connected connected and does not reconnect. Was really hoping this would work better
Needs widgets
The app is good, visually appealing and I am glad there is a watch app too. But adding a widget for both the phone and watch would complete it. It would be great also if there was a webpage for temp tracking when working on a laptop.
Terrible chart
No way to see your minute by minute temps and times on the chart, literally a 4-5 hour wag of the numbers.
Flawless
I use my ChefsTemp devices on grills and smokers, they ate always accurate. The app keeps me informed on the progress of my cooks and the notifications alert me when my food is ready to remove. Love it!
Great but needs one thing
I’m running Chefstemp S1 and Breezo. I love it. The only thing we desperately need is dynamic island support. Seeing the temps at a glance would be great
Excellent App
The Chefstemp app is great. Being able to make temp changes and monitor my cook from literally anywhere makes Sunday BBQ so easy and worry free. Keep up the great work Chefstemp.
Smooth
The ChefsTemp app and system works flawlessly, it allows you to monitor and control your BGE, Charcoal grills like a pellet smoker. i highly recommend it.
Worth every penny!!!
I am running the ChefsTemp S1 and Breezo fan on my Old Country Gravity and it has been an incredible experience. Not only has it given me precise control of temps, but it has given me the automation and simplicity of a pellet smoker with the flavor of an offset. No more sleepless nights manning the offset or wondering if the auger was jammed on the pellet. Precise and consistent control, all with no wires!!! Much more cost effective than their competitors and more convenient at the same time. Try it!!!
