Horrible bugs, laggy

Basically unusable

Trop bien

Pour jouer quasiment gratuitement c’est génial. L’appli est très bien faite.

Super!

The thing is simple and clear! I was waiting for this without knowing I was waiting!)

Worked very nice

Played only one bar tournament so far but it was cool to have a more chess structured meetup to meet people and enjoy a more relaxed tournament environment to enjoy some chess games

Bugs

I saw insta advertisement a lot of times , liked the concept so installed the app but facing some bug issue or what the pages ain’t going to the next page only in setup once I started back it worked after that , it ain’t working , will try again later but if it doesn’t work will uninstall

Cool Idea, but misses the point?

For me, there’s a massive overemphasis on competition. When I go to a bar to play chess, I’m not trying to sign up for a swiss tournament. The magic of bar chess is in discussing and analyzing live over a beer or two. At the meetup I attend regularly, no one pays any attention to what the chessbar app says we’re supposed to be doing. It’s effectively useless, except that, to its credit, the meetup might not exist without it.

Response from developer

Thanks a lot for your review and for the helpful feedback! At most ChessBar meetups, the 5-round format is meant to be a casual mixer. The idea is to help break the ice and let people play with several different chess enthusiasts during the evening. It’s intentionally not an arena format, so that players who finish early have time to grab a drink, chat, and watch the other games. And quite often, people keep playing freely after the five rounds are done. That said, we’re really glad you found a way to use the app that works best for you. Who knows, maybe you’ll give the suggested pairings a try one day 🙂♟️

Great way to connect

There aren’t many advertised chess nights in my city. This has been the first way I’ve met strangers to play over the board! Great friendly games with a bit of friendly competition.

Thanks a lot for the review! It really means a lot. Hope to see you at many more chess nights soon! ♟️

Cool Idea, but misses the point?

I’m glad this app will hopefully mean there are more chess meetups in general, but for me, there’s a massive overemphasis on competition. When I go to a bar to play chess, I’m not trying to sign up for a swiss tournament. To me the magic of bar chess is in talking and analyzing live with your new friends over a beer or two. This app misses the mark for me. No one I’ve met at the meetup I attend regularly pays any attention to what the chessbar app says we’re actually supposed to be doing. It’s effectively useless, except that, to its credit, the meetup might not exist without it.

Global search

Good app idea but allow us to search globally, not only by city. When I type my city, it sometimes hide other cities bars.

Super appli

Just works

Had no problem , it is fun and I really like it!

Exceptionnel
