Oh my daisies, I adore this game
I still have the app open, I was made aware that Chiikawa has a game and immediately dashed to download. The second I open the app I was greeted with a great first impression, the presentation of the game overall is so cute and thoughtful even in the set-up screen! Playing through the tutorial was simple and easy to grasp, the translations are perfect. I had bad luck finding Japan-centric cute casual games that had English translation in the past so this is my lucky day!
The sound design is fantastic and goes well with the background music, and every interaction is so satisfying to hear AND see because the touch-effect make silhouettes of the main characters pop up! It changes through characters with each tap, which may seem like a small thing but the attention to detail just adds to the whimsy of the game. The memory feature is a treat, the ability to interact with and care for Chiikawa is also very much appreciated!
I’m not done singing this games praises because the charm of it is so well executed I might cry, the design of pop-up screens like the daily log-in has really nice designs and each button click has a cute touch effect that adds to the aforementioned charm. The UI is very well done, you can tell the team put a lot of love into this game.
The character movements are very smooth, which may sound silly to praise but I’ve played casual battle games that get a bit lazy in their animations. Another thing to love is that the text is not too small or too big, usually some translated games have English font that awkwardly breaks through the text box or shrinks to an textbook caption size and is hard to read.
