Fun, Effective, and Perfect for Daily Mandarin Practice
I’ve tried a few different apps to learn Mandarin, but ChineseSkill has been my favourite by far. The lessons are engaging, well-structured, and make learning feel fun instead of overwhelming. I especially love the variety of exercises—they help with listening, speaking, reading, writing, and remembering new vocabulary without becoming repetitive.
The app has made it much easier for me to practise between my weekly Chinese lessons, and I’ve noticed a big improvement in both my confidence and vocabulary. The explanations are clear, the pronunciation practice is excellent, and the gamified approach keeps me motivated to come back every day.
If you’re looking for an app to start learning Mandarin or to reinforce what you’re learning in class, I highly recommend ChineseSkill. It’s been one of the best language-learning apps I’ve used.

It’s alright. The apps AI is not very well and often gets your ratings wrong. The app also makes you pay for premium for basically everything. Overall it is a nice learning app but the AI needs improvement.

The updated version is a great coat of fresh paint. The lessons are now mixed rather than focused on one particular element.
It’s NOT free
Don’t be deceived like I was. It does NOT have a free version like Duolingo. It makes you think it is but after the first block of classes you are forced to pay to continue.

LLOOOVVE THIS cause unlike Duolingo, not much repeat and no daily limits. I’m ADDICTED
Okay but
It’s alright I guess but I’ve been learning for a bit now and they aren’t really telling me in English I’m from the uk and they aren’t saying the English version like it does in Duolingo so I’m getting some wrong and I’m not really learning Chinese this way
Vietnamese app?
I like the new Cantonese course; app is designed in a way to keep users interested. Would be cool to add Vietnamese language (Southern)

Everything is basically paywalled behind premium and premium PLUS features. You can hardly do or learn much without spending a good penny, most useful items are locked behind the plus feature...

It is so hard to find an app that even allows practicing Mandarin with traditional characters so I’m so happy I see you have an entire Taiwan mandarin course. Only issue - allow the user to set it as a permanent default!
Amazing app
This is an app with all the tools, grammar, writing, pinyin, etc. all resources in one brilliant app. Seriously well designed pedagogically
