Would be great if it worked. Instead it will piss you off and rarely work well enough to be fun. Try for free for a little while then try something else but don’t waist your money.

This app used to be great, then all of a sudden they removed the scales section over to a different app and are trying to charge a yearly subscription.
What happened to the scales section?!!!
The scale section disappeared!!! What is going on?!!! When I first purchased this app it was for a lifetime membership and now the scales section is gone!!! This is very wrong and frustrating!!! I directed many friends to your app; I guess I won’t anymore!!! This is unacceptable and sneaky!!! Bad business practice!!! I certainly hope you put back the scales section!!! Extremely disappointed!!!

It was Great Until Today 7-2025
Used this for years for occasional chord reference; I guess it updated because today it was trying to make me sign up for free trial lessons (money later of course - no option to opt out - so I deleted the app and Will go elsewhere!!! I don’t mind ads but don’t want to be forced into lessons (that might or might not fit my paradigm) when I’m already taking lessons.

Best guitar app ever
Helps me learn and memorize chords and practice switching between them, the guitar tuner isn’t the greatest put everything else is perfect!
Now have to pay for a free feature with latest update
The reverse chord lookup was handy and was free, but now you have to pay for it. So I have deleted the app.

I have been using these tools (ChordBank, ScaleBank) at a premium level for almost three years. When I posed a question about access to the “All in” subscription model I have been ghosted by the Better Notes support team. Three messages over the last two months without reply. Contact support before subscribing.

This app is pay to play on any features you need to add. It’s a money grab to access all the normal things you would want to use on an app like this. By the time you add it all up you are paying over ten buck a month. Give me a break, if you want to play and learn, this app holds hostage the features that should be part of the discovery process. The reverse chord feature seemed nice until I typed in a chord and it said it couldn’t name it. It also completely freezes on my iPad Pro 2023. Don’t waist your money.

J'adore cette appli, surtout pour la fonction qui permet de sauvegarder des collections d'accords. Une petite amélioration qui serait chouette, c'est de pouvoir les exporter pour les utiliser dans une partition.
Too many features moved behind paywall, even for longtime users
I’ve used this app for years, recommended it to dozens of friends…always found it useful. So imagine my annoyance when I found that most of the features I use have been moved behind a paywall and early adopters don’t even get a discount. I understand developers need to make money, but you should also reward your most loyal users. That’s not unheard of or unusual. Regardless, $50/year is not even a good value considering there are so many cheaper alternatives.

Decent app with bad support
I loved this app and used it often, I have the pro features that I purchased years ago. It was going great till I got a new iPad. I can’t get “restore past purchases” to work on that device.
I’ve sent notes to support twice but they don’t answer. This leaves me with an app that can’t do what I want (reverse finder)unless I sign up for a subscription even thought I bought it years ago.
Time to look for a new chord app. - sad
