Great for travel
We loved this app for exploring Rome and Florence. We would highly recommend using this as an aid to explore the city. We paired this with Rick Steve’s Audio Guide Europe, and felt we got our own tour guide through Florence and Rome.
We would give this app a 5-star if you were able to download the audio items to listen without internet connection. Some churches or areas with low signal were hard to download synchronously while on at the location. Also, the live location mapping feature was somewhat spotty. The content included in the app was excellent.

Absolutely brilliant, just needs polishing
I love this app. It made my short trip to rome more fun, enriching and intentional, less overwhelming too. Being able to see the landmarks on the map AND find out something about them is amazing, especially when one broken column blends into the next and one church blends into the next. Cicero gives beautiful insights into the sights of rome that really help me take it all in. The info is digestible and written to give you both historical context and analysis, as well as a bit of fun. The narrator is great although his style is probably not for all.
One thing I did have trouble with was the function itself. The app is pretty buggy. Many times the audio would skip, stop or not start for no reason at all. I got the hang of it eventually but in some cases it was very frustrating and prevented me from listening to it.
I wish every city in the world had its own version!!!!!

Rome Basilica/church guide
This was a suggested app in a church in Rome and it was perfect for a non-catholic, Christian to better understand the rich history of the places I got to see.
A wealth of information
I first came across Cicero via a QR code in one of the churches I visited in Rome and downloaded it for the next stop. It was brilliant — not too long, but full of fascinating history and cultural context. Most descriptions guide you step by step, often from outside in, with just the right amount of detail (at least for me). The geolocation feature was especially handy, helping me quickly identify the site I was at. Thoroughly recommended.

The top
This is absolutely the best app I’ve ever used to walk around my favourite city. Top!
