Dangerous
They don’t review their ad pop ups after you buy a movie ticket, so dodgy websites like fanclubs may pop up, claiming cash back on purchases but it’s intended to scam you. Don’t think it’s trustworthy just because it popped up on Cineworld.
Flakey but otherwise good
The app works well most of the time, but it really struggles whenever a popular new film goes on sale.
I’ve repeatedly tried to book tickets for the 18:30 showing of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, only to be met with a never-ending loading spinner before eventually receiving the message:
“Ticketing Unavailable. Oops! We’re afraid ticket sales aren’t working right now. Please try again in a few minutes!”
This isn’t an isolated incident. It seems to happen almost every time a major new release goes live, which is exactly when people need the app to work. It’s incredibly frustrating, especially for Unlimited members trying to secure good seats before screenings sell out.
Please invest in improving the reliability and capacity of the booking system during high-demand releases. A cinema booking app should be at its most dependable when excitement is at its highest.
Until this is addressed, it’s difficult to rely on the app for booking tickets to popular films.

I can no longer book on the app with my unlimited card even though I’ve been charged twice awful customer service non existent.
Can’t find any cinemas
Search function for cinemas near you does not work. No cinemas are showing and nothing comes up when I put anything into the search bar. Can’t really see the point of the app if I can’t locate a local cinema to buy a movie ticket from.
Membership scam!!!
Sign up to the membership at your own risk - the deal is great if you got regularly to the cinema, but they actively don’t respond to your request to cancel!! The don’t allow you to cancel online either, so the only route is through email (which is buried!!!) and now they’ve taken a month and recharged me for the following month because they’ve taken so long. Still no sign of reply, just automated emails saying they’ll get back to me. AVOID

The app needs to be updated more with better features for unlimited members in app notifications of new movies would be a nice feature request and to book mark ur upcoming movies get pre notified when there out I notice the notification system does not even work when I try and use it so that needs to be fixed

Absolutely rubbish. Tried signing up on iPad and iPhone and just keep getting an error message. Will use Vue instead
What a joke
I signed up,payed my subscription activated the account.when I went to book a film it said I was not old enough to book one ( I am in my 60,s) the IT dept said they would sort it,6 months later still paying my subscription and still not sorted.IT Dept said cancel the account and retry as they couldn’t fix it so I did I retried 3 months later after 4 attempts finally got the account to work except they are now taking 2 payments a month I have tried to email them but I only get the same reply (send copy of bank statement ) 4replies later I am still no further on and they are still taking 2 payments a month.CUSTOMER SERVICE,NON EXISTANT no way to contact a person ,contact numbers don’t work there email reply doesn’t seem to get to anybody that cares .They wonder why there numbers are don’t increase

We where not allowed to watch a movie with a trusted adult
I’m really disappointed with this experience. We were told we could watch a movie, but when the time came, we weren’t allowed to. There wasn’t a clear explanation, and it felt unfair and unorganized. We had been looking forward to it, and the sudden change was frustrating.
If there were rules or restrictions, they should have been explained clearly from the beginning. Instead, it felt like the decision was made at the last minute without considering how it would affect us. Overall, it was disappointing and poorly handled.

Landscape view required for 5 stars
The app is a lot improved, but my M1 iPad Pro is permanently attached to its Magic Keyboard and to use Cineworld Cinemas I have to perch it on its side, or detach it completely. I don’t think it is much to ask to make this app work in both portrait and landscape mode. Come on Cineworld Devs… you got this!!

I really want to support local cinemas. Have had the Cineworld app for a long time. I opened the app today and was greeted with an advert for a puff film about the woman who is married to Donal trump. This is a moment when we all have to stand against fascism. Garbage. Constantly losing my unlimited subscription although the card is there. Lost count of the number of times I’ve removed and re added it. Happy to take your subscription but after that…awful. If only the Odeon was a bit closer.
