Great to explore Montréal with
A very comprehensive tour of Old Montréal. Well made. Only downside: Only available in four languages. An opportunity missed, especially as the English version requires a strong English!
So excited only to be disappointed.
What a cool idea! If only there were more than a few projections working and the app was functional. Half of the time we arrived only to be told the Google play wasn’t working. The other half we couldn’t get the audio to play. We gave up after four.
Doesn’t work
Tried the app out when visiting Montreal but it didn’t work for myself or the rest of my family. Kept saying “server error” every time I clicked on anything and I couldn’t see any projections. I wouldn’t trust the app at all and needs a lot of work.
Didn’t work
First, the website listed only 3 locations that weren’t open, but when you open the app at least half of them aren’t available. Then, it says sunset, but once we got to our first location, it actually started 40 min after sunset. So we waited. In the cold. Finally it hit the time, but the app didn’t work. It kept synchronizing for us and all the people around us for over 15 minutes. So, we gave up and walked to a second location, where it did the same thing before finally alerting us that there is a server error. Which isn’t noted anywhere on their website or anywhere you can look before actually showing up to the location. It seems like such a cool thing to do, but there needs to be better communication when things are closed or not working. And there needs to be clear times posted on the website other than just saying sunset.

Merci

Connexion
Très difficile de se connecter
Doesn’t work
Keeps telling me to connect to the Internet - I’m connected 🫤
Montreal comes alive at night
Even in -8 weather, we were transported at each stop. Amazing technology!
Great idea...bad implementation

Hard to find displays referenced in app
+ lots of exercise trying to find displays
My expectations may have been excessive, remembering the entertaining presentation on the grain silos in Quebec City some years ago.
- couldn’t find displays: “you are here” arrow didn’t display on the app’s map (the app had access to precise location); street names are unreadable on the app’s map; the directions support took me to a different street (there was a directory panel, but no projection); the directory panels use letter codes that don’t appear on the apps maps
- standing beside the sign and projector for the beaver rebellion the app said I wasn’t close enough. (This must have been a humorous time for the settlers given the use of puppets)
- I saw projections on walls, but couldn’t connect them to stories in the app
- the frequent loading of material was bothersome even after downloading some 800 mb of data before going for the walk.
- the name of the app isn’t the same as the name of the initiative
The large amount of material and videos could could use software (like Gypsy) to enable pre-downloading data with wifi and using GPS to trigger the presentation of content as well as giving directions for circuits

Brilliant idea, needs work
We were super excited about to do this and it’s a really fun idea! However, I can’t get the sound to work at all and it’s hard to tell what’s going on without it. It’s also challenging to navigate since it doesn’t give you directions or the address of the next spot.
Superbe application d’histoire local !!
Bien fait super interessant !
