About

CitizenBand is the truckers' CB radio, on your phone. Pick a channel, press TALK, and everyone around you hears — like a real radio. ONE CHANNEL, ONE RADIUS • Channel 19, the road channel: traffic jams, police, road closures, gravel. • 40 public channels, 5 to 100 km around you. • A private channel for your convoy, your motorbike ride, your rally: create it, send the link, and whoever opens it hears you, wherever they are. A REAL RADIO • Listening, silent or off: three modes, one indicator. • It hears even with the screen locked, and while you use your GPS. • In the car on the CarPlay screen, on your wrist with Apple Watch, or with a Bluetooth talk button — without touching the phone. • An end-of-message beep, so you know the channel is free without looking. • Radio check: the server plays your message back, "loud and clear", even when nobody is around. NOTHING GETS LOST • Missed a message? During a call, in silent mode, out of coverage: it waits for you in Messages, for 24 hours. • Every message is transcribed; anything said in another language translates with one tap. • Keywords that alert you: "accident", "traffic jam", your crew's name… • Out of coverage, what you say is sent when the network comes back. • Just arrived somewhere? Tap the channel number: what was said there in the last hour, ready to replay. NO ACCOUNT, NO TRACE • No sign-up, no phone number. • Report an offensive message with a long press; stop hearing a radio that bothers you. • A rough position (an area a few kilometres wide), never your route — except on an event that tracks its participants, if you agree, and for its organisers only. • Messages stay 24 hours on the server, encrypted, then vanish. 26 languages: those of the European Union, plus Norwegian and Ukrainian. Channel 9 is reserved for emergencies by tradition; no emergency service is listening. In an accident, call 112.

What's New in CitizenBand Radio

1.1.3

October 21, 2026

• Backup server: if the main server stops answering, the radio switches to the backup server and keeps listening; an orange “Backup server” light says so, and it returns to the main server by itself. • Radio on standby: when iOS refuses the push-to-talk channel in the background, the app warns you with a “Radio on standby” notification and shows who is talking instead of going silent.
